As Waterloo04 says, the UT is buyers matched with sellers in an auction, at the price that clears the most volume off the book. The UT from the closing auction (when there is one) sets the official closing price at the end of day.

Just a note on the TR-1 for Allianz today. Often when you see a large sudden swing of around 4 - 5%+ for an institution it just comes from a change of fund manager rather than on-market trading. It’s possible that Allianz have taken over a fund(s) from someone like maybe Jupiter or Aberdeen and if that is the case then there could be another TR-1 for the opposite side of the transfer within the next day or so. Or not.

Alternatively, I know Liontrust have been selling down holdings to meet redemptions so it’s possible they came to an agreement with Allianz to complete a large transfer off market so as not to impact any further on the SP during this time of high volatility. I think this one is unlikely though, just mentioning it as a possible and I’ve not been tracking trade reporting to see anything, but the total volumes don't indicate 4.9m shares as a possible trade.

It may be clearer in the Interim report if there is a table of major investors there. I can’t see an official list on their website, unless anyone else knows where it is hiding. This would have been visible while still on AIM as a list of major shareholders is required to be displayed under AIM Rule 26, but I don’t think there is an equivalent requirement for the Main Market? so it’s maybe been taken down recently as part of the change?

I think some of the answer to that may be in the wider “Business Unit Performance” section in the March RNS, vs what was ‘not’ mentioned in yesterday’s relatively brief statement, as much as what was mentioned. And the “challenging conditions” noted before are now “ongoing” and with no further visibility on this now expected until September Interims, may lead to more caution and a lack of buyers in the short term than might otherwise be the case.

I don’t wish to get into a debate on this further though so will leave that as just my observations for consideration.

"ADVFN classifies these two trades as purchases." - that is only because they were both above the mid price so their algo has 'guessed' that they must both be purchases, the same way as the algo on here works, although being after hours they may sometimes show as unknown instead. They may show up on here after close tonight, if not already this morning - LSE have had several problems with processing their data feeds for some time now.

The trades on the stock exchange look fine and for that volume, to a precise 3 decimal places, and with the trades being off-book and just a few seconds apart normally indicates something like a contract roll-over (future/swap type of thing) rather than normal trading. It could otherwise have been a transfer between institutions at a pre-agreed price, but given the takeover is at 200p I think that unlikely?

Disclaimer – I’ve not used it much so can’t vouch for its accuracy and it doesn’t note which market the companies are listed on. There are other country and sector drop downs available at the top as well which can be handy for quick reference.

Is that the stockchallenge.co.uk list? I use that occasionally as a quick reference because I like the format. The way it presents information is a good overall visual guide that’s easy to navigate.

But it’s completely unofficial and unregulated, essentially just someone’s hobby website, and contains a number of inaccuracies including the next (and last quarter) review dates.

£3.9bn is currently position 100 on that list but that’s not the entry point for the FTSE 100 Index. The positions at 90 and 110 (pink lines) are key as that keeps the rebalance range wider at +/-10 places to help maintain consistency in the index.

Jet2 is not in the All Share, it's listed on AIM so doesn't qualify for the FTSE 100 or any other FTSE UK Index series. It is in the AIM index series though.

For info - entry level for the 100 is around £4.5bn at the moment not £3.9bn (need to be position 90 or above for auto entry, unless someone else is dropping out), and the next review date is 4th June not 28th May.

Talking of which, here's an important bit that Tip Ranks chose to ignore, the market consensus for the year against which the market will (has already) judged the TU numbers: "The Group believes current market consensus for FY 2025 to be revenue of £156.3m and adjusted EBITDA of £43m."

So it's a slight miss ("mild" profit warning) for FY25 and the Q1 commentary in July to see the impact of the delays they mention and further outlook for FY26 will be key, along with the dividend level.

I can only see speculation around anything being announced on Pharma at this stage, nothing appears clear yet (unless anyone else has seen it?), so will be interesting end to the day here if there is clarity as Trump indicated that his Eye of Sauron like gaze would turn to that within the next two weeks. LSE default is to include the other page options as blank templates whenever they add a new listing.

Careful with the word ‘listed’. A company is ‘listed’ for trading on a market within an exchange, but they can also be, separately, a ‘constituent’ of any number of indices that they are eligible for and meet the qualifying criteria for.

There are around 1,300 companies listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange. Only 550 of them are currently included in any of the FTSE Russell UK Indices.

GAMA will not be eligible for any UK Index until FTSE Russell conduct their review on 4th June.
