Do shorts have to cover if a company is delisted?

If you have shorted the stock and it gets delisted but the company is not bankrupt, you will still be responsible for covering your short position. You will need to buy back the shares that you borrowed to sell in the first place, regardless of whether the stock is still publicly traded or not.

Shenners, If you do have an interest, ( other than a short) I wish you well, and suggest you wait awhile, and see what happens, it is early days, and if he really does have such an amount to transfer to shareholders, with accounts and certificates, it is going to take a while to distribute.
