Booz, I typically highlight risks here due to the fact everyone else highlights benefits, and going to the moon etc.
The risks migrate from obviously the UKR conflict and the EXTREME anti Russian hysteria, which has always existed to an extent but never ever this bad. During the height of the cold war ie cuban missile crisis nothing of the sort happened in the way of sanctions which Russia is under. It is the most sanctioned country on earth, more so than NK and Iran.
Risks - more sanctions ie say full embargo one all financial transactions as for now we have loop holes and 30% of Russian banks are still on swift, being banned from dollar or eur (apart from payments for energy), the Rus state taking over the assets in country (unlikely) or more likely the Oligarchs work there magic and take the assets in Rus and Kaz (which is even more corrupt than Rus), sanctions in terms of no gold mined from Rus (even if its a "Brit") entity being sold domestically or internationally, and the most likely scenario is our Oligarch Nesis being sanctioned and POLY being in the same situation as EVR, suspended indefinitely.
Its going to get worse before it gets better I'm afraid. This jump in SP was premature as nothing has changed on the ground. Nato+ will wants actions not just positive statements.
