Be greedy when others are fearful
This also happened to a BA Airbus 319 a few years ago. the catches were not easily seen by crew doing a walk around check.
Southwest has had several emergency landings in recent years. It just isn;t a very safe airline.
RR used to have a VC10 flying testbed. One side had the two Conway engines and the other side had one RB211 engine. Naturally they bent the airframe! ! It was scrapped at Kemble.
The B747 is kept in the desert at Marana Pinal Airpark. An airfield once owned by the CIA for its airline Air America.
Just remember this.
The fool spent a year rubbishing RR. The year that RR became the biggest riser on the ftse 100.
Investors dream of hitting the biggest riser and we did it! The fool gets null points
There are a few more projetcs RR are engaged with but so far have not been disclosed. All I can say is hold on to your shares. Just announcing a singe aisle engine tie up will boost RR by about 100-200p sure it will take time toreach the bottom line but the market is huge and RR have the best technology. SO much still to come.
"Royce's are going to run out of capacity at this rate - just how many engines can they catually build???"
They can build one engine a day. Or at least that was the planbak in 2015 when they had to produce for the B787 ad A350.
As for Nickel here is a story of the biggest find until recently.
A couple of geologists were doing a survey in Labrador. They landed for fuel outside of the contracted survey. One picked up a large stone and asked the other if this was what he thought it was. They returned to Toronto and set up a mining company to do a full survey of their find. The next summer they were doing the survey when a barrel of oil leaked. They called in an expert from Goose Bay to clean it up. Asfter cleaning the area up the guy wad waiting for the flight back when he overheard the geologists talking about this huge find etc. When he returned home he borrowed as much as he could and bought millions of shares for a few cents each then told other family members to do the same. In no time the shares were $100 and Voissey Bay was the worlds largest nickle copper and cobalt find
I know my January prediction was 1000p at year end 2024.But some big orders are coming in for the A350s due to people now saying 'If its a Boeing I'm not going' I'm now increasing my year end to 1500p. I know people here thought my £10 target was too optimistic but there is so much more to come
It did hit 1200p but diution is a killer. However our profits and msrgins are going to be higher. Plus we have some very interesting tech coming along which i cannot discuss here.
At the start of the year i predicted £10 by years end.Nothing has changed and I still stand by that. As for capital gains I suggest spread betting with no stops just build up a position with 50% MARGIN.no tax to pay.
Are back!
I've been buying at around 208 today. yesterdays late rally seems to have vanished today. I'm expecting good news tomorrow which backs the board for turning down the bid.
It looks to me that the city hasn;t taken too much notice here today. Two bidders withdrawing has given the city the idea that this was going to drop today. So its been a bit overlooked.I now expect a couple of brokers upgrades suggesting 75-85p here.
Okay so the takever failed. no problem at all. its made Currys cheap with £1.82BNin assets you can now pay so little for CURY its a bargain
What we do know is than JD want to expand into the EU and UK
The asset value of CURRYs s £1.82BN
worth about 150-175p share
My thoughts
If JD make an offer they will pitch it around 90-100p to stop others entering the race
Or if someone does arrive they will have to go over 100p forcing jD to try 120p to rebuff them.
Its all about Game Theory.
If nothing happens then CURRYs can roll on to 150p by itself.
Assets £1.82BN
Eliliot tried to buy with £756M
profit for Elliot £1.066BN
Yes I agree they are able to re enter the bidding war
JD could try low ball but someone else might bid thus increasing JDs next bid, 85p should do it
For JD I doubt they will make a statement just yet but 10am to midday?

The boss of IAG, the parent company of British Airways, is to take millions of pounds of his bonuses in cash rather than stock after failing to revive the airline group’s bombed-out share price.
A new three-year pay policy, to be put to shareholders at IAG’s AGM this summer, proposes increasing the cash element of directors’ bonus payments from 50 per cent to 80 per cent.
IAG chief executive Luis Gallego is entitled to an annual incentive of up to almost £2 million a year, which he must currently split 50/50 between cash and shares — the latter of which are locked up for three years. He is also entitled to a slew of other benefits as well as receiving millions under a long-term incentive scheme.
