I don’t don’t see a link in the power plans and the split. Just that all companies are trying to reduce carbon footprint and cost control/energy security.
All the time they don’t have to split and the legal/financial environment allows them to keep operating in Russia, they will. Money is money and they are digging it out as they were before the war.

With the aspiration to go to renewable energy, the economics didn’t really stack up. With the price and security of energy in question, this conflict has done more than anything to make it a reality. Russia had 20 years or so to properly cash in on the oil and gas but has blown it. By the time alternative transit is in place only third world economies and bargain prices will prevail.
That strip of land will be incalculable in terms of cost.

Roxy, on the off topic subject of living costs and food banks, I’m sorry for those struggling to make ends meet but the general population has been living far in excess of its means for a long time with cheap credit and unsustainable borrowing. This has driven up the cost of housing to unsustainable levels and an excessive blow out on consumer goods. Not everyone but certainly too many. I would also like to see a cap on senior management pay verses lowest company renumeration and that’s from a conservative voting person. Great has got out of control.

The share price will be driven by company fundamentals, profit liquidity and dividends.
Politics will play zero part if normal trading and payments resume.
Based on previous dividends, the share price will recover fully as its literally a gold mine for investors at that percentage.
The sh*t show needs tidying up in Ukraine first though….

The Russian economy is a minnow in comparison to the top countries., number 12 when just the little old U.K. is number 8 by GDP.

BS R the economies of the US and Europe are bigger than that of Russia. They’ll find the money because it’s cheaper than sorting this out later when the rest of Europe is at risk.
