Horult, couldn’t agree more. In fact I would mandate paye tax relief on approved solar domestic schemes to really kick start those higher tax payers to add the tech. It would really start to have an effect on consumption and co2.

Easiwynn, modern connected tech like Mixergy smart hot water tanks will make a difference, when the price goes negative it switches on to provide grid balancing and free hot water. EV car charging can work in the same way. It’s coming and the high energy cost environment will only speed up transition irrespective of what Bb says.

Renewable energy a con?
I fitted solar thermal on a small south facing roof and my gas boiler hasn’t gone on once since 18 March. All hot water for free.
Solar pv with battery storage next on the agenda which will probably have the same effect.
The gas and electricity prices are messed up not only because the energy cost but also companies charging more because of the need to cover fixed price cheap deals for some customers and pure profiteering. Why has the standing charge gone up so much which is the cost for billing, transmission etc.
Reliance on wind and solar farms won’t guarantee you cheaper energy, dipping your hand in pocket and sticking it on your roof will.
People need to invest in their own future. But interesting you not only **** of Russia which I could understand but now also knocking poly. So why are you here, as a general outlet for your aggressive rhetoric?
Just to be clear I’m sickened by the invasion and would love to see them booted out and back within their own territory.

As for Russia not selling to the west, again, we will have to see because money is money at the end of the day. I do hope one positive outcome is accelerating green energy and sustainability that becomes more economically viable in a high energy cost environment.

You’re on the money with that post captain. If the divi remains similar to the last few years the share price will rebound as long as shareholders can take the cash. No divi then that’s different but then where does all the profit go? Pay debt, ok but then you have a massive cash generating machine banking huge sums annually. Would the share price stay at these levels? No of course not. Once the conflict is over and suitable change of leader in place the gas will flow and the oil too. Doesn’t stop the drive to reduce reliance but the world will need to drive down costs in energy fertiliser food etc.

Foor, should be fool…. The BODs job is to run the company for the best benefit of the company and shareholders.
When billion dollar companies worry about transient share price in exceptional circumstances rather than the efficient running of the business then there’s a problem.

Ex divi date was cancelled. From investor relations….
I guess they could mandate differently using original ex divi date with divi only to current shareholders which may save a few dollars in outlay by not paying new investors and those who sold.
Just need to wait and see
