Trading very well this morning - already over 1 million shares - surged over 11p in early trading before falling back a bit on profit taking.

Maybe, I am being over cynical but having come off badly a few times during refinancing, I tend to fear the worst, especially when Banks are involved - shareholders tend to get shafted.

My concern would be that with the future financing and the rights issue pending that the SP needs to be at a higher level than it is now to help combat the effects of any possible dilution - basically Enquest needs Brent at $70 + for a sustainable period for AB to do his deals with the Banks.

Well chosen retail purchased in the summer has done very well, also purchased WTB recently - should benefit from staycations and has a big pile of cash.
Best is still tech stocks - spot a good prospect and you can retire in a few years - ITX.
Also OCDO - best UK tech prospect - in a dip at the moment has a long way to run.
Oil's day will come but it needs to quite quickly for Enquest.

UKOG have a prospect in our Parish - Broadford Bridge - on an unimproved B road - no chance of full planning without a huge spend on upgrading local roads.

The point with Covid is that you have to try and see past it as an investor, otherwise your portfolio will only contain companies that benefit from Covid.

Therefore, it was valid to identify and invest in Covid recovery stocks as early as last summer - even CCL has recovered threefold.

The risky investments that should be avoided until recovery is well advanced are commodity stocks and that includes oil - unfortunately they are always last to recover, simply because of oversupply issues.

We have to uphold standards Neil - there is only one Colin the Caterpillar - all the others are fraudulent imposters - they have to be eradicated - chopped up - blown to bits....

The real test will only come when and if oil producers cannot supply the market - I think that we have some way to go before we reach that point.
In the meantime there is little point in investing - just look at Enquest's SP over the last 5 years.

In the UK the best investment would be in even more wind turbines and maybe actually going ahead with major wave power projects.

Green hydrogen production can only become a reality when there is enough green power produced to make it financially viable.

Also, it may be necessary to fund nuclear projects to act as back up for the grid when power demand is high.

Steady progress but not there yet.

There would be one major advantage with the ITM plan to produce green hydrogen at the turbine.

In areas away from population centres, where it would be difficult to use the electricity generated, such as Northern Scotland, Shetland and the Western Isles, the hydrogen could be transferred by pipeline to a small port on land for storage and then taken to market by tanker.

Brent now pushing into the same zone as the March highs.

Yes, its the acid test now for High Streets around the country over the next few months.

My guess is that the picture will be very mixed.

We will see the larger centres quickly getting back up to speed - such as Oxford Street, Westfield, Brighton, Bournemouth etc and the out of town stores also doing well.

The smaller High Street's that have lost their Department Stores and chains are I think on the extinction list, by the summer it will be clear which ones these are. M&S Management will be then be able to announce closures for stores in these locations.

Not forgetting that Ceres have developed fuel cell boilers for use domestically and by industry that produce heat and also generate electricity from Green Hydrogen or Natural Gas.

The ITM trials may be technically possible but I am not sure that they are the best option.

The best option has to be to maximise electricity production by providing as much power to the grid as possible and then using all the excess power that is produced 24/7 by the turbines to produce green hydrogen.
The green hydrogen can then be fed into a grid and used for electricity generation close to urban areas or industry when winds fall light.

Apparently some supermarkets have pedestrian traffic lights to control entry and stop them getting rammed with eager shoppers - why anyone would want to endure that is beyond me.

Brent over $70 is the trigger - in 2018 Brent was over $70 for about 7 months and the SP here was over 40p - this was the first time Brent hit $70 since 2014.
Brent very briefly went over $70 in 2019 and since then.....
AB does his best but its all down to Brent.

The current short term uncertainty is simply down to Brent - after the encouraging rise from November until mid March, it is now far from clear where Brent is going next.
Hopefully it will test $70 again - a break through here would do wonders for oil shares.
But it is just as likely to fall back to test $60.
The true test won't come until supply comes under pressure with rising demand.

I can see your point about risk Neil and if that's the way you want to invest then that's up to you.

Some of us have different ideas and they should all be respected, even if they are somewhat reckless.

I was down over 95% on one investment and held, now after continued investment in the same company, I am 395% up.

Each to their own - OCDO has been a walk in the park compared to ITX.

Undoubtedly mixing green hydrogen with natural gas will make the transition from 100% natural gas to 100% green hydrogen something that is both practical and achievable over an extended period without the need for dramatic change in the existing natural gas network - most of the upgrade needed can be achieved during the course of normal maintenance.

At the moment green hydrogen is still expensive to produce but for every wind turbine that is built the production costs decrease and at sometime during this decade green hydrogen will become affordable.
