I think this slow upward movement will continue until we see trading results during the current trading period and that it won't be until we get this years final results next Spring that the SP will top £2 - my guess would be £1.80 by Christmas.

Recovery was always going to be a long haul back to full profitability from Covid and it follows that shareholders will also have to be patient and invest here for the long term.

Having said that, this is an excellent safe investment for steady long term growth with the prospect of good dividend returns in the future - especially for investors who took the punt last summer.

Indeed, but these deals matter now, because they increase the value of the investment already made in the Kraken Field and AK.
Maybe the deals to come will involve selling a stake in Kraken, at the enhanced value, and then using the cash to buy other assets elsewhere, maybe from BP, to bump up production.

Along with Bressay, Bentley will certainly enhance the value of Enquest's core asset Kraken in the years to come.

Also, its important to get control of these licences now - future Government's may restrict the granting of new NSO licences.

Bank of America initiating coverage is more important than their target - I think we can expect more brokers to follow.
The interest in hydrogen shares will surge over the coming months as we get closer to the Glasgow conference in September.
Any targets will quickly be pushed aside.

If ITM's pilot project works and is commercially viable - installing an Electrolyser directly in the wind turbine to produce hydrogen instead of electricity - that would make a massive difference to the SVT project.

SVT would simply be doing what it does now for the oil industry, plus storing and transporting hydrogen.

The hydrogen would be transferred from the turbines by pipeline - stored at SVT - then transferred elsewhere by tanker.

CWR went from £1.50 to £15 in about 30 months when investors smelt hydrogen.

After 5 years with a falling SP, despite good management, Enquest needs to explore new ideas.

As gkb says - the SVT hydrogen Hub Orion Project may be that idea with the potential to supply 12% of the UK's green hydrogen.

It has the potential to not only to boost Enquest's finances but attract new investors, the type of investors that quickly put a companies SP into overbought mode - 60p could be gone in a flash - more like £6.

Potential + Sentiment = Profit.

Obviously there is no control over the electricity produced from renewables, that's why its useful to have another use for it - producing green hydrogen. The first call on the electricity produced should always be for the grid - only the surplus that cannot be used should go for green hydrogen production. Therefore, electrical storage is unnecessary - the hydrogen is the power store.

Another option under development is to produce green hydrogen, using sea water, actually within the wind turbine and then transport the hydrogen to shore by pipeline and then to market by tanker. This could be useful in windy areas that are a long way from population centres, such as Shetland - Enquest's Sullom Voe Terminal would be ideal if this idea went commercial.

The best place to store hydrogen and natural gas - in any ratio of mix - is in the gas main system.

As for Lithium electric batteries for vehicles, I think that this is a dead end technology that will eventually be superseded by hydrogen that can be produced from natural gas or renewables. Its only the west that is really serious about EV's - the Japs and the Chinese are already starting to develop hydrogen vehicles commercially.

Energy storage is as you say the key - that is why we need so may options - natural gas, renewables [wind in the UK], nuclear
and coal again if the CO2 can be removed and stored.

Even with green hydrogen up and running you need an alternative because the supply of green hydrogen cannot be guaranteed. Green hydrogen is the best way of using excess wind power 24/7, but if for example we had high pressure sitting over the country for the whole of January, supply would certainly be an issue - not enough wind power for the grid and not enough green hydrogen in store as a substitute power source.

This is when blue hydrogen would be important in the mix - the other alternative is nuclear.

I see the future as being a mix of a whole range of technologies with power from carbon remaining important because carbon capture technology will make its use totally acceptable.

Think of it as town gas made green - you could even use coal in this process and oil.

What you describe is actually grey hydrogen.
Blue Hydrogen is produced in the same way but the CO2 produced is captured and buried underground - therefore, you need somewhere to bury it, where better than a spent oil field - hence the business opportunity.

BP need to find space to permanently store two million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year from their new Teesside plant, starting in 2030.

We are not talking about green energy production here - this is conventional energy production made green - a big difference.
