I would agree the price of WTI is higher because US production is down and the low $3 spread may remain as long as US production doesn't start to go into surplus again - unlikely by the sounds of things.

Brent is now challenging the March highs - maybe we will see it top the magic $70 next week - bells and whistles then with everyone invited to the party .

I always think of Boris as a Whirling Dervish - spinning around and creating collateral damage where ever he goes - both verbally and physically.

The strike itself is nothing to do with Enquest - its a dispute between the Shetlands Isle Council and the tug boat crews - hopefully in the two weeks they will sort it - there are only a few tugs, so it can only involve a small number of workers - if it goes ahead I guess it has the potential to delay shipments and if the dispute dragged on to actually halt production - but bad weather in the winter also closes the port for longish periods without any noticeable impact, so I think that in reality the likelihood of any serious effect on Enquest is fairly low.

Yes, I would say that M&S needs Ocado more than Ocado needs M&S but M&S are a major customer of Ocado Group and its important that all Ocado Solutions partners do well in every trading domain they operate in.
The bottom line is that Ocado Group needs as many CFC's operating successfully as possible to maximise trading turnover and pull in the profits.

Yes, I agree and this could be part of that plan to purchase these type of assets from the majors.
AB, has added value to Kraken by purchasing Bressay and Bentley.
His next move could be to sell a stake in Kraken to free up capital and then buy more bargain assets from the majors.

Even with the clothing M&S are getting their act together, sticking to their core offering that is profitable and using third party brands for fashion etc. The Food Halls are doing well, as you say, and they are building more out of town and closing High Street locations - they are moving forward.

The relevance of all that is that M&S today is very different to what it was a few years ago when the SP was falling, they are heavily focussed online and I believe very committed to growing Ocado Retail - I fully expect to see more CFC's in planned after the current three new sites open.

Its more than a red herring Jan, because the its value as an asset is far higher than the purchase price even if its never developed.

M&S does have a relevance here and it is important to consider their long term future, being an investor there does give insight. Therefore, M&S is a valid area for discussion.

They are not just a partner in Ocado Retail but a customer of Ocado Group, the most important at the moment, so Ocado need them be in a position to freely expand the network of CFC's and to give the Ocado Retail brand stability and credibility.
