There are targets to reduce emissions from North Sea oil production that will need a fair amount of capital spend to achieve.
For example it will probably be necessary to source an alternative fuel to power AK - this could be the reason AB purchased Bentley and Bressay - both have Gas, although even that may not be suitable by 2030.

These are the targets - "The sector is committed to decarbonising and, subject to making progress on the shared actions, it will take action to reduce emissions from oil and gas production by 10% by 2025, by 25% by 2027 and by 50% by 2030 (all relative to 2018 baseline), as measurable steps to a net zero basin by 2050."

All the while that there are more positives than negatives the price of oil will continue to rise, but it won't go up in a straight line - so short term, dip - medium term 2021-2 - excellent - long term???

Yep, as they say Iranian oil is already in the mix and that's without what's been flowing by pipeline into Russia, ****stan and Turkey.

From Kroger's point of view it allows them flexibility on store size in the long term - as home delivery and click and collect becomes more popular they can reduce store size to simply satisfy demand for self selection and space needed for click and collect - this will mean that staffing levels can be substantially reduced.

Their competitors will end up with these strange large hybrid stores part warehouse/ part store and very high staffing levels.

Kroger already have plans to take the use of the Ocado Solutions platform to the next level with their announcement that click and collect orders will be picked at their CFC's, not in store.

This has massive implications and it comes at the time when Warren Buffet invested in Kroger.

Kroger have realised that their in store shopping experience can be dramatically improved when all the trollies collecting home delivery and click and collect orders are removed from the shop floor - hence they expect a boost in sales.

So for Kroger, Ocado Solutions are not just about home delivery but they benefit the whole business.

Would certainly agree - possible downside towards $60 on Brent for a very short period - more likely to sit between $64 and $66.
Enquest SP is moribund but unlikely to fall much lower.

I would imagine that purchasing another couple of AK's would do wonders for the company finances - get real!!!

Excellent news this morning - opens the door to investment by Green Investment Funds and gives them the opportunity to invest in manufacturing - most of their investments are in energy projects.

Regarding jobs for workers from the North Sea Oil Industry they would need to move to wind farms and carbon capture projects, so the skill gap is minimal - for NSO companies as well.

Fantastic news from China - underlines Weichai's commitment to the joint project - we should get more news of the proposed manufacturing project sometime this summer.

Yes, we may moan about the market in general and the SP being at these levels, but for many people the market this May is an opportunity and if the companies that we invest in attract high quality long term investors, of all sizes, that has to be good news.

I think that is a little harsh Squif - these guys at Hurricane seem to have lost the plot.
I don't doubt AB ability, he just needs to project Enquest and his attributes to retail investors.

Unfortunately another failure to lift Brent over $70 and it doesn't look as though todays EIA numbers at 15.30 will help the situation.
But the underlying rise in Brent continues, its only a matter of time before $70 is breached.
