Do you think that now that the vaccination program is virtually complete for adults, that Johnson's policy is now simply to go for herd immunity, regardless of the consequences?
It would certainly hasten the end of the pandemic in the UK, free up the NHS this winter, and give them a chance to catch up with the backlog - short term pain for long term gain.

I guess we would all do well just to go on holiday and forget about investing until the Autumn.

I think that Johnson's new/old policy with Covid of heard immunity will work, but we face a difficult couple of months and coupled with the slow summer period for markets and very active shorts, it may be better just to ride it out.

I think this is a bit more than a blip this time, rising Covid cases are causing labour shortages and inflation fears are hot news.

We could see a backward slide in Brent to the $65-$70 range for Q3 before we move on again in Q4.

None of this is directly Enquest related or even directly Brent related - its all just macro - the Black Swan is still circling.

The fluctuations in the SP are I think simply manipulation by the shorts on a more or less daily basis.
All well under the radar because volumes are well under the 0.5% recorded but probably involving multiple hedge funds that are simply following one another's lead.
The next movement will probably be a strong gain as they cash out before repeating the process.

Yes, and when you read articles like this one, it looks like production may never recover to 2019 levels with big oil selling up and moving on.

If I was DP, I would try and turn a negative into a positive by getting a competent project manager and team together to finish this project with a view to using them on similar projects in this area of California.

The strategy now - although it won't be admitted - is the original one, heard immunity.

With so many people in the country over 40 being double vaccinated and with the rest quick to follow, it is probably the best way forward.
