Yes, we certainly need more green energy and hydrogen has a part to play in that - especially in power generation - but we also need an insurance for when the wind doesn't blow - hydrogen may form a part of that insurance, but nuclear also needs to be developed as the ultimate back up.
As for heat exchange pumps - they are very expensive and useless, except on new builds.
The actual generation costs of solar and wind are already less than fossil fuels in the UK, therefore, everything is falling into place to provide fuel for green hydrogen production but this will have to be an affordable process or it won't happen .
