Ed should be wearing a bib next time he goes to his local greasy spoon for a bacon or sausage sandwich. That said there are far more deserving targets for windfall taxes etc. if he and Stella know where to look. BP and Shell are creators of wealth unlike the highly paid union leaders , wealth funds in the UK flying below the radar screen under various off shore flags. How much tax does Google and the other erstwhile Silicon Valley companies pay, operating in the UK. ?
And the revelations in the Telegraph today about his meetings with Sue Gray before the finalisation of her report show what a total fool he is. Now is the time to get a police force outside Durham to " grill" under caution all those present at the Curry night in Durham including Sir Korma himself, sweet Angela who was not present three times until it was discovered that she was. The owner of the Indian Restaurant should be included especially one of his staff who firstly delivered the food in person and then remembered that he had not !!
When you see Sir Korma and Rachel Reeves out and about promising 300,000 homes to be built each year and really going to town on the "Windfall Tax" it will hit the pension pots of all workers in this country. As for Sir Korma making out he was brought up by a family on the breadline that is a total joke as he attended Reigate Grammar school in leafy Surrey and when it became a private school, I believe that he stayed on with his fees paid effectively by taxpayers. I suspect that RR accompanies him now as the lovely Angela is having her hair done.
This is excellent news and relatively shallow for extraction. We know there is potential for far more gas production in the UK and good returns to be made unless Rachel , Lady Angela and KS do not chase these companies offshore.
Looking to add to my position on 6th April through ISA.....half into BP and half into ECOR. The "thicko" sparks on the Labour Front Bench have come up with a new wheeze...yes they will cap Council Tax when they get elected. Much better to sort out those profligate Labour run councils right now. That would be a shocker for those girls getting pregnant at 16 to jump the queue on the social housing ladder which is a lifestyle choice. A great example set by you know who .
Excellent professional interview with Marc and very optimistic about the future especially moving away from the legacy coal royalties into copper, cobalt, nickel, vanadium, uranium. Very confident especially since the dividend is covered 4 times and debt has been reduced substantially.
According to DividendMax it is 12th May 2023.
Trek.....very happy to buy in my ISA in 2023/2024 Tax Year if it holds at around 125p. I like quarterly divis such as this and BP.
China is really just opening up again on the manufacturing and infrastructure spend so I am very optimistic about copper, nickel and cobalt.
In my opinion not time to say goodbye and much of the decline is as a result of the Company being bracketed as a "Financial". I am looking to go in for £20,000 ISA on 6th April for the dividend yield......at that time of life but still have plenty of excitement in the precious metal space. Good luck strictly Zinc. !
RP.....Obviously not in any gold stocks then ?
Just waiting to add to my ISA position in LGEN after 6th April as I foresee 9% yield on this in a couple of years at this price which could be lower once we go xd.
Pokerchips......When somebody has been useless at financial regulation , promote him to be the Governor of the Bank of England.
Meconopsis ......I was in a taxi a couple of weeks ago in the Battersea area and was amazed at all the high rise buildings with L&G on them. As you say , a great move.
dogger...you could just be wrong again but I think the "after hours" trades today could be interesting.
meoryou.....I went in at just under £3 in 2021 and will hold for a very long time. All depends on the underlying business especially the price of oil. I will probably exit at just over £6 in my ISA
The analyst saying £10 must be smoking some high quality weed. Hope he is nearly right though.
Not a good sign for shareholders if the likes of Ruffer is selling at these levels on behalf of their discretionary clients. How much lower will the price of gold fall in the next couple of weeks ?
Very happy with the performance of this share and especially since it went xd today for approximately 5.5p payable at the end of March. I see £6 on the horizon so eat your hearts out Sir Korma and Rachel Reeves (apparently very savvy financially since she worked at the BoE at some stage !).
Sir Korma and Rachel are a couple of thickos if they think they can implement a "proper" windfall tax which would probably mean double taxing profits made from outside the UK. How many rail workers, posties and civil servants hold BP and SHEL shares in their pensions. Perhaps Rachel should tell them.
Just to clarify I am not a tax professional but pay somebody who is. I am not giving advice merely pointing out possibilities for mitigating Inheritance tax but it might not suit other people's circumstances. I am now 74.
