Good evening BT, good to hear from you. I took a look at the results yesterday morning very briefly before heading off to work. They seemed pretty good. I need to go back to the RNS and look over them again. Well, it certainly hasn't been the year either of us were expecting for GBG, rather disappointing overall. A number of shares which did so well last year have struggled to make any significant headway this year; perhaps it has needed to take somewhat of a breather. You maybe right about small investors seeking better returns elsewhere, that is understandable. However, I think GBG has remained off most investors radar, it has never been one to draw the masses to it, which is a relief in many ways. I too believe this will probably drift somewhere around todays level until something jolts it back into life. I know that Robbie Burns, the Naked Trader, remains confident with GBG and still believes it may well reach 200p, and possibly at around that level a bit will come in for the company. That in itself is re-assuring. I didn't realise you didn't know about my search dog training. I have been doing it for some years now. It came about due to helping to raise funds for Kendal mtn. rescue and taking a special 4 legged friend along with me, which always raised more money!. From there it was an easy step to get involved with the training. We are out training most Thursday evenings, regardless of time of year or weather, plus a weekend a month (difficult for me due to work). In February we train for avalanches around Aviemore for a week. I usually get buried 6ft. down under the snow and ice, waiting for the sound of the dog digging for me and the handler encouraging them. Always have been found..........obviously, or I wouldn't be here. I was last in the Cairngorms February year ago and was on my way home the day of the avalanche which killed 3 climbers. The team were training in the next valley and got to the scene asap. Our dogs made the find; unfortunately the climbers were buried too deep. I felt guilty I couldn't be around to help. That is how things go I guess. Yes, funny old world. Your tale about your Old English brought a smile as did the mention of your 2 other dogs. I wouldn't be surprised if you still feel the old fella is still around, which in a way he is. Regards, stay well CM

Congratulations. I went for RM. on Friday. Can't invest everywhere. Naturally today RM. fell back and POWR has bounced up!, hey ho!. Lucky escape for you; it seems to be happening all too often of late!. I am of the opinion that if a share is worth investing today, then it will probably be worth investing tomorrow, so there is no rush. Very difficult to get ones timing right.........all too often too easy to get ones timing wrong.........spit!. Good luck and regards CM

Usual story of late for me; sit out and wait and the share price rises, buy in and the share price falls. At least the spread has fallen to a far more reasonable level. CM

Good evening folks. Good heavens £4.00!!!!, who would have thought that just a month ago with the market in turmoil. Congrats. to all who are in here and stayed in here throughout. It's hard at times to let a share go by selling out, indeed selling is by far the hardest thing to do. It seems now that it is all start all over again with my investments, rather than being able to see something develop from not much more than an acorn to a fully grown tree. When I invested here I only had 1000 shares invested at a price of around 86p. So a 10p (£100) increase in the share price was enormous, now it is no more than 2.5%, yet the increase in £ would be as much as at 86p. The market correction spooked me so I got out of everything. Perhaps in the future if the same situation arises I may take a different course of action, providing the share was strong as TRCS has proved to be. Thanks for your mention of other shares to look at. I will make the time to look deeper. Having said that, I am not sure I want to invest more right now, having bought back into the market. I now have re-invested in HAYT and CLL and have taken a position in ITV, REDDE, BOOM (joker in the pack) and yesterday RM. These are not recommendations, nor am I trying to ramp any of them. Apart from BOOM, they seem relatively strong, but who knows what will happen with the markets. Yeap, LFC are finding the going tough without chewy Luis and DS out for the time being. Think we will just have to see the season through as best we can and hope the team comes together at both the front and the back. However, I did take a lot of pleasure the other evening when I sawon t.v the REAL MUFC (Maidstone United) beat league opposition in the FA Cup. Maidstone were my home team who I supported from being knee high to a grasshopper and have seen many times in the past. Liverpool are my team from family extraction (I'm 1/2 Scouse). Good luck all. Think this may be somewhat of a lonely board to be on, and may end up talking to myself. Nevermind, perhaps someone will come over and join me. Bought in today at 153p, not a huge holding. I could have bought in earlier for sub 145p and then sub 148p but chose to get out and get some much needed fresh air, not expecting any or much movement in the share price whilst out. Also wanted to see some positive movement before investing. Didn't expect to see such a jump. Someone has confidence in the share having bought not far off 100,000 shares during the morning. Not sure what all the tiny share purchases are about - very strange, and a factor that made me hesitate in buying in. I stick with my figures from below re forecast, although recognise that none of us can predict the future; hence my holding of 1000 shares and no more. I can always average into strength. Regards CM

You really must stop talking to yourself you know, lol!. Just thought I would come on here to say I have been looking at this share on and off since it was in the low 30s. Other shares have caught my eye more though and consequently this has stayed more on my watchlist. Interested more once Robbie Burns, the Naked Trader highlighted it when he bought in earlier in the year. Then the jump when the acquisition was announced. I have held back to see what effect that may have on the share price and await further news. Need to run through some more figures, read more info. before deciding for sure to invest or not. Thanks for the post, much appreciated. I think this one has moved away from the price I was prepared to invest at; so I will wish all here the best of luck and move on. However, I will keep this on a watchlist and see where it goes out of interest. This may well move higher. I just wonder if it will pick up investors/ment from others who are/were invested in QPP. I don't think there is a problem getting into QTX, it is more of a matter of the degree the share price has to move before I/we move into profit, quite a spread. Having said that, had I bought in at 153p, I would be in profit now. Not going to dwell on it though. There are other opportunities around. Don't want to rush into anything, it is all too easy to push the buy button without due diligence. Can still get it wrong even after dd mind you!. Regards CM

Welcome to the CLL board Syny. Hope this share will prove profitable to you. Don't expect anything dramatic anytime soon, more likely to be slow and steady. I am thinking it will be more a case of looking back over a good no. of months, year or so that together with the dividends payable that we will be able to look at what will possibly be a good choice of investment; nothing guaranteed of course. There are still many things out there in the larger world which can knock all shares. There are a number of very encouraging signs with CLL. Market cap. not too high, relatively low no. of shares in issue, a low PE and PEG, director and institutional interest, rising revenue, profit and operating margin, a good ROCE and an increasing dividend over the last 8 years (I believe). The spread is larger than ideal, due to the lack of trades largely, market makers have to make their money somehow. Not a lot to worry about, since I invested in TRCS at a very similar price to what CLL is today with few shares in issue and that rose 400% in the couple of years I held to when I sold out recently. CLL pay a decent dividend unlike TRCS. Not saying CLL will do a TRCS of couse, half of that would be nice!. Additionally this is a nice quiet board, with no rampers nor derampers, no-one (as yet) hot under the collar. This share is definitely off most radars. It would be very easy to invest more here rather than go chasing quick profits elsewhere only to come unstuck. Having said that, I have one or two other companies on my radar vying for any spare funds which are also off radars. Good luck and regards CM

Thanks for the post EJL7. I put a buy order on QTX before going to work; however it didn't execute. I thought that maybe the share price may fall back a little more today with the not so good news coming out of the G20 meeting(?) about threat to global growth so was hoping I may catch it. Didn't happen. No problem though. I have a problem with my mobile phone not being able to access my share dealing account(s) which has only just happened, can't log in for whatever reason. This means I have to wait until at least midday to be able to get internet access at the local library - not very convenient. I've managed in the past so I will have to manage now. It makes it a little frustrating that I can not take any action whether it be a buy or a sale, which is why I set a buy order first thing. It was always possible that the share would head North today, not too surprised. Don't want to chase this or any share though, so may sit on the sidelines for the time being...........or may not!. Any thoughts about any similiarity (or not) QTX may have with the telematics side of QPP and what may happen if QPP goes belly up?. Am I right in thinking QTX is more fleet based than individual car based?. Keeping an eye on this and a finger on the pulse. Good luck and regards CM

I have come across RM by way of my occasional trawl of indicies looking for low PE, a PEG below 1.0, preferably paying a dividend, and then looking more in depth of the share including director and institutional interest, fundamentals, RNSs etc. I also look for any interesting articles and have come across the following: http://www.iii.co.uk/articles/193024/tide-has-turned-rm which has already been mentioned on this board by Libero on 17 Sep. At present values RM is only valued at 12.9 x profits. If we use the figures for pre-tax profit as forecast in the above article then that drops to a staggering 6.82 x. If we increase that to 12 x (present value) that would give us a share price of £2.60. Lets drop that to 10 x, that would give us a share price of £2.17. The former would give us an increase in share price of 76%, the latter 47%. Hmm. Interesting. Off most radars for sure looking at this board. Good sign. Few trades, hence the spread. having said that I have seen far greater spreads. I wonder.............. Regards CM

Good luck to you Shan. As you are probably aware I have sold out of TRCS, regrettably in some ways. However I made a very decent profit of over 400% over the time I was invested, so no complaints. With the market taking a dive in October I decided to sell out of everything and exited TRCS at around 348p. TRCS was/has been the most successful share I invested in for % gain. I never had a great number of shares in total. There comes a time to move on though and I am now "fishing around" for other possibilities. Have to say the dividend with TRCS is miserly, but better than a poke in the eye with a burnt stick!. Regards and good luck CM

I have been looking at some figures EJL7. Using NT figures of issue price of 116p with pre tax profits of £4.6m with a market cap of £54.10 million gives a figure of just under 12x profit. With the current share price of 153p that gives a mkt. cap of £71.757m and gives a price to profit ratio of 15.6 which is at the top end of what the NT looks for. If we then use a pre tax profit of £6.0m as you have stated then that would give a price to profit ratio of 11.95 using the present share price. If we however say that ratio goes to 15 with pre tax profit of £6.0m then that would give us a share price of 193p. NT has a target price of 180p which using the present pre tax profit of £4.6m would give us a profit to price ratio of 18.23, or under 14 if we use pre tax profit of £6m. Does that make any sense?, it's not something I have looked at much in the past so my figures may be a little shakey. Compared to many companies any or all of the figures would seem attractive. Looking at another figure, with revenue of £13.2m and pre tax profit of £4.6m does that not give us an operating margin of 34.8%?. If so, then that is pretty good. Using nothing more than a ball park figure for revenue next year of say £15m using the operating margin of 34.8% would give us a pre tax profit of £5.22m. If we apply that to NT target price of 180p then we come up with a price to profit ratio of around 16x, still not particularly expensive. If NT target price of 180p is realised it would give a return of 15% from todays value. Generally he looks for a return of at least 20%. I am not going any further with any figures here or I will tie myself up in knots, and it is mere speculation afterall!. I have been unable to obtain other figures, not being able to look at any pre float docs, so maybe you can fill me in on those. I have tried to find info on the net but with no luck. I think one of the things we investors tend to overlook many a time when looking to invest is what is, where is the competition?. We can get blinkered and think the company invested in is the market leader and is an out and out winner. There must be other competitors out there, do they offer anything better than QTX?. The existing clients I read somewhere about competition from QPP and another company was mentioned, but I can't find the link which has possibly been removed. However, if Robbie Burns has invested here at around 147p then that isn't much below Fridays close. I will have a look at the way things are going on Monday. I don't have easy access to the internet during work hours, so I will have to either set a buy limit before work and/or take a look around midday and make my mind up then. Re weather - very wet and windy this morning, becoming calm and sunny later (in South Cumbria). Sometimes think our investments tend to be the other way around!. Just briefly, I did notice the retrace in the share price during the day. I had an opportunity to buy in at 153p late on, but took my finger off the trigger. Like you, I feel the spread is a little large. I think it was 148-153 at the time. The spread may come down in time. The small amount of shares in free float can have the effect of not many shares trading having a disproportionate affect on the share price movement. However, don't let that put you off too much. I held shares in TRCS for quite some time with the same situation and rode the share from mid 80s to 350p before selling last month as the correction hit. Doesn't guarantee the same will happen here. Good morning BT, well I hope it is where you are anyway. It is a days holiday for me and it is chucking it down here and blowing too!. Huh!. I will still get out though if a little later than intended. Can't let a little rain put me off, or a lot of rain for that matter. Yes, I will carry on posting here BT, someone to keep you company if nothing else. It can get a little lonely on some of these boards, especially if you tend to post on just the one as I know you tend to. Sometimes posting off topic isn't such a bad thing. I have a few posters who I am in touch with off the boards which can be useful at times. Yes, GBG, hmm, nothing much happening is there. Very quiet. Period of consolidation perhaps?. You may be right about investors seeking more movement elsewhere, but GBG has never been the kind of share which in my opinion has attracted investors looking for a quick fix so to speak; more a case of being off most folks radar. That may change, but I rather think not, which in its own way is a blessing. Tends to lead to a spike then a dramatic retrace and additionally a lot of baloney being spouted. When a board gets busy with all and sundry then it is usually an indication to move on. Talking of moving on......I have been active investing again, not always, in fact on a number of occasions unsuccessfully investing elsewhere. On reflection, had I stayed exactly where I was pre correction, I would have been far better off; but of course I didn't know that at the time, hindsight is a wonderful thing, just wish I had it before hand!. I really felt I had to sell up due to my circumstances. That was the best thing at the time with a visit to my elderly mother down South, not wanting outside worries to cloud my valuable time with her. If it cost me financially looking back then so be it; need to get our priorities right. Returning to dog matters...........I'm still involved with training the dogs for mountain rescue. I was out lying in the woods in the dark yesterday evening near Grasmere waiting for my 4 legged friends to find me. It can be a labour of love at times. However, the reward I/we get on seeing our furries grade to becoming full graded search and rescue dogs is great. The dogs all have their own character and it can be fun being pulled through the leaves and mud at the other end of a dog pull with the dog growling at me (in a friendly way of course), lol. Thanks. I'm not invested here just yet. The share price has jumped a good deal this morning and the spread is showing quite large. Very often the share price for any share mentioned by the NT rises the following morning and then will retrace later (although not necessarily by much). Often it worth waiting a few days to get a better price. If i do miss this one, then there will be others that come along in time. Additionally right now, I seem to be too trigger happy and have made a few mistakes. After the market correction last month I have become more nervous and need to regain some confidence.
