STILL AFLOAT17 May 2019 13:56
With the latest news on Thomas Cook, only 1.5 billion debt, I decided to pay a visit here, to see if AVN was still in business. Surprise, surprise, you are still drifting in outer space weighed down by your considerable debt burden. Conclusion from this is, that our currency is completely worthless, so you can be billions in debt and still remain solvent. Next step up is trillions. So much for saving for the future; pretty meaningless task. The bank of England will soon be selling a do-it yourself printing machine with genuine plastic rolls.
Future pension pots should be in the range of 10 trillion pounds. It makes you wonder how the first postage stamps managed to survive being a penny and how contemporary newspapers circulated at the same price.
We'll soon have to revert to barter or wheel barrowloads of cash around with us like in 1929 again. Mobile phones would be risky as we could easily put the decimal point in the wrong place with our trillion pound orders.
Only solution, is to bring back the GOLD standard, but that would be revolutionary. It might mean the guillotine for all concerned.
