But the issues they are dealing with certainly interest me now. As I am convinced that everything as far as CCS is concerned is still in its infancy, but time is running out for Europe to reduce CO2 and at government level people are now exploring or studying the CCS method.

Companies pay for rights to emit CO2. That was quite cheap for a while, about 5 to 10 euros, but is now 50 euros per tonne. According to the Port of Rotterdam Authority, storage in gas fields under the North Sea costs around 80 euros per tonne. The government makes up the difference with the subsidy. If the CO2 price rises further, the subsidy will decrease.
