LONGWAIT: "What's your point, canetois?"
My point is that when I saw a heading "$10 oil coming" I thought that was what I was going to read about. However, not the case, another complete page on the dreaded virus or something associated with it. If it had had a header along the lines of " potential cure for COVID 19" I would probably have given it a miss due to an aversion to the amount of COVID 19 that has overtaken anything to do with what HUR are up to. I'm sure you will argue that COVID 19 will, or already has, had/have an effect on HUR and that's fair enough provided that it is properly labelled. Now, the last thing I want to start is a war with LONGWAIT because his username will always drawn me in the direction of what he has to say on the basis that it will invariably be something well worth reading. I'm being fussy but I don't like it when a topic started under a heading a couple of dozen posts earlier goes on to cover everything that anyone has to say. Untidy!!. Now, bugger me, I've gone and done it.
All this under a $10 oil coming heading:
" group of researchers in northern Israel announced on 27 Feb 2020 that they had achieved a “scientific breakthrough” in treating coronavirus. At a press conference, researchers of the Migal Galilee Research Institute briefed the successful treatment applied on coronavirus in birds. Israel’s Volcani Agricultural Research Institute had confirmed the treatment’s viability after they discovered the cure via a clinical trial on birds infected with the coronavirus.
Coronavirus infecting birds is very similar in patterns of human infection, and human symptoms. The coronavirus genetic structure isolated from human and birds are found to be matching as per the researchers. As a result, the treatment developed for birds could be applicable to humans. Researchers believe that based on the finding s an effective treatment could be developed for humans within three months.
David Zigdon, Chief Operating Officer of the Institute, said that “The solution we are developing against COVID-19 virus has proven effective, and we believe a version for human treatment can be ready within eight to 10 weeks. That would be followed by a 90-day test period to ensure safety. The treatment we developed for birds is given orally, and the treatment we are developing for humans will also be given orally.”
Director of the Institute Professor Dan Levanon said the speed with which the treatment could be used would depend on regulatory approval. "
My previous post should have started off like this and not by ADUK's comment.
feelinglucky: "Giant Squid topic bridges both sea life/animals covid transmission potential via calamari...and HUR mascot animal ...so should it be banned from discussion?"
feelinlucky: "Can I present an 'Attestation de Derogation' to you excusing my occasional 'Shipwatch' posts, so I too don't get banned?"
Yes, because that all seems a bit to complex for me. Suppose I could get ADUK to explain it for me as he does about all matters oily. Have said it before but the only oil I was ever familiar with would have been splashed onto a piece of flannelette 4"x2" before vanishing up the barrels of the following rifles: Lee Enfield, Fabrique National SLR and an SA80. You can now work out roughly when I started doing it and roughly when I gave it up. Oh, nearly forgot, not a bad day for our HUR.
ADUK: "Can I present an 'Attestation de Derogation' to you excusing my occasional 'Shipwatch' posts, so I too don't get banned?"
Accepted, on the basis that you are in amongst the list of my favourite top 50 HUR posters. Don't treat my acceptance as an excuse to start doing HUR to death though. Tell your pal LONGWAIT I'm watching him too, stick to the Virus, or else.
feelinlucky. If you continue to discuss HUR on this bulletin board I will have no alternative but to report you Admin with a view to getting you both banned in order that the rest of us can discuss nothing other than COVID-19.
Sailplane: "as storage capacity dwindles.
And, apparently, a plan being pushed to limit Texas production in a deal with OPEC."
Looks as though the Ruskies and the Sauds are going to have their wicked way with the Yankies shale then?
...............................333 points, all that because of one poorly HUR worker? what, you don't believe me !!, okay neither do I, so. what's all the fuss about. Santander down 20 points, it's the end of the world I tell you. the end of the world...............................................................................for some but...............................................not me.
MrPartridge: "Anyone think 17% jump today might be linked to a stonking set of feedback tomorrow. That said, markets are up in general today. Any thoughts?"
It looks as though tha could be reight lad, someone could easily know summat that we don't.......................................................as usual.
eskibeatbeater: "Thank you canetois. Posts like that make me acknowledge the 10 IQ you possess and that's enough to know you have no idea on something so basic let alone oil production."
My sincere apologies to you and to all those who quite properly recommended your post. My stupid post should have engaged at least some small part of my 10 IQ and I can't even think which small part of my 10 IQ led me to insert it into a BB like this.
It was idiotically inspired by a neighbour whilst chatting on my car park this morning who quoted a number of mass life taking events which, in some respects, massively exceeded, in his view, the numbers that will (may) occur as the result of Coronavirus, road traffic accident deaths being one which took me by surprise I have to admit.
I am truly sorry for the offence this may have caused to you and all those who read it.
Not entirely sure though what a lack of any in depth knowledge of oil production on my part has to do with my being well and truly invested here, the fundamentals seem easy enough to grasp.
1.25 million people
Annual Global Road Crash Statistics
Nearly 1.25 million people die in road crashes each year, on average 3,287 deaths a day. An additional 20-50 million are injured or disabled. More than half of all road traffic deaths occur among young adults ages 15-44.
Okay, maybe the virus will catch up over a 12 month period but I have my doubts.
LONGWAIT: "Isn't it curious that it has closed at above 9p on the last two trading days, especially after a fall in Brent to about $25.50 at the close today?"
Does it say something advantageous about the 19th and 25th of March which, just for once, transpires.
ADUK : "But I'm highly tempted to modify it further, including a box to tick followed by the phrase "Je sors pour aller braquer une banque". Because the banks are still open."
Attention, la police française tue généralement les voleurs de banque.
ADUK: "And like that we could gather at La Rochelle on the basis we were 'going to work'. But there's a problem. 'Pro players' have to pay tax on their winnings..."
Pity times are so fraught with difficulties at the moment otherwise I could be tempted to loan you the keys to my currently empty property on the seafront some 250 yards from the JOA Casino de Canet en Roussillon. This, if it were possible, would be on the basis that I get 75% of any winnings you might achieve or, failing that a charge of, let’s say, a £10 a night accommodation charge until you’ve had enough. However, given that the Casino is closed and you and you faithful old Range Rover are not allowed to make the trip over the Pyrenees mountains I regrettably have to say it’s a none starter. The saddest bit is that me and my missus can’t flipping get there either, not that I’ve ever been in the Casino for anything other than a meal in their not too bad restaurant. C’est la Vie.
.........................ramping up rapidly towards a quid just as I was preparing to transfer money from UK to France in order to pay the annual Service Charge subscription on my property there. What next, HUR struggling, don't mention SXX looks like leading to divorce (joke) and now the flipping euro wants to join in the fun. Better I surrender to the Virus as quickly as I can so she can at least start digging out the insurance policies. I'm not even sure she'll miss me anymore.
