Tunisia will sell the oil from the wells they have taken from us every year that the income would have flowed into zen. Its not a reasonable arguement to say they shouldnt pay because its a lot of money. T hey should pay what they can and agree payment terms for the rest.Whether they can pay or not has no relevance to the validity of our arguements.

Its too far away from icc2 and icsid decision dates to garner much pi attention, a smaller win from smp possible though. assume that when/if we get a decision on a new tribunal for icc2 the amount claimed will have many millions more in interest added. would like to see zen use any smaller windfalls to expand producing assets as rapidly as possible. is reactivation of san andrea still on the cards?

Nasty shock at least we had the placings for the solar, they need to get that built out rapidly now, while the further legal actions will take time. on the plus side the 10m is now in collection mode, and a win against smp would be welcome now. Key thing there is the phrase 'in future'. It applies to future policy not to existing deals or re-organising those existing deals to maximise return for investors.

AC is not inflexibly bound by this to not do a deal with Tunisia.

Though I think it increasingly unlikely that we will be able to do further business with Tunisia(due to their actions and not those of ZEN) I do not feel that there is any restriction to prevent AC doing so if he feels it's best/possible.

Many staff will loose their jobs if ZEN exit Tunisia and AC expressed concern for those staff who have also suffered due to the Tunisian state's actions.

@Jiff I agree with you, that could be better for both Zen and Tunisia and should not be confined only to the assets ZEN currently have. However it will all depend on the relationship AC can forge with the Tunisian authorities. At present it appears they have not been good.

The post on X from Mohammad tells us that wise voices in the Ministry have been overruled by those who wanted just to stand their ground and take from ZEN. The question in my mind is what happens when they lose another court case. Will those wise voices gain the upper hand and they are people AC can deal with or is it all too late and ZEN have now moved on to Greener energy pastures.

As Mohammad Ammar tells us; It seems there are wise people there just that they have been unwisely overruled.

At what point do they come to the table and seek settlement for the good of their country. The further down the line that is the worse it will be for them.

Hopefully something official from Zen can confirm ICC2 situation soon.
