? What could Avacta present immediately after the Phase 1 trial poster...?

One can understand the Tomlinson Affimer IP situation by direct analogy with the Bachovchin -D-Ala-L-Pro- dipeptide (what Avacta calls 'pre|CISION') IP situation in that Avacta has an exclusive licence to commercialise Affimers, as with pre|CISION.

That exclusivity allows Avacta freedom to sublicense commercial exploitation of Affimers as they see fit. The terms of the licence and sublicences will entitle the licensor to receive a share of the revenue received by the licensee from the sale of Affimer products. Tomlinson will receive a share of revenue from all sublicences (and sub-sublicences, etc.).

Licences and sublicences can be renegotiated/transferred/sold but I should think the licensor would need to agree to the new arrangement.

Avacta had Affimers under licence from Tomlinson at Leeds Uni.

The licence for use can be split by application - Tx/DX.

Only conflict would be if Avacta wanted to use an Affimers diagnostic for their pre|CISION platform.

I wonder whether the licensed-in Affimer IP from Tomlinson's group for diagnostic use goes with Coris in part or in whole.

No Derek, they TRY to manipulate the share price by trying to affect sentiment amongst the under-researched. That means distortions and lies and totally irrelevant 'worries'. It's an old trick. I'm surprised you're not aware of what you were doing. A decent person with such worries would put them to the members here ONCE, put them to the Avacta management and ultimately just sit on their cash until they had decided to invest or walk away. Anyone choosing instead to continually repeat their 'worries' here is either trying to spread FUD in order to affect sentiment for a lower entry price or loves spouting off, or both. There must have been hundreds or even thousands of people who looked at Avacta and thought "Er, looks goodish but I'm not sure yet" and didn't post their concerns here. So why did you?

This is good news! The upfront payment is about what was expected. The additional earn-out would be a great bonus and, if received in full, would mean Avacta could just about fully pay the next Heights repayment from recently received cash:

Cash from private placing: (net receipts - Heights payment): £3.1m - £2.964m = £0.136m

Max. cash from Coris sale: (upfront + earn-out): £2.15m + £0.615m = £2.765m

Total cash received: £2.901m

Next Heights repayment: £2.55m + £0.37m (est.) = £2.92m

Shortfall: £19,000 less any interest accrued on cash

That said, I hope the next Heights repayment - and the one after - will be with cash from a private placing again to preserve and extend the cash runway. Raising a bit extra in those placings at a much higher share price would be best (sorry Derek).

If GSA's reporting of reduction of short to 0.67% was based on the shares in issue on 23 July (before the shares for the private placing were admitted to the LSE), then the midpoint of the reduction gets increased by some 72,500 shares and the range between min and max extended accordingly.

Either way, unless they've bought back a very large amount that they've not reported yet, they have a looooong way to go yet to get fully out.
