Aviva gained today whilst l&g declined. That's UNEXPECTED!

Perhaps then,you should (if you have not already done so) open up a short position in Aviva and profit from your shrewdness! Ten large brokers on HL platform and none of them rate Aviva as a sell. In fact half of them recommend BUY.

Bit of a bummer that eh!

And no doubt SP will drop a further 21p on going XD.

I'm still seeking to find any evidence of the 'pace, energy and commercial thinking' we were promised by the CEO on his appointment. It's been very quite for some time now and the SP seems to be stuck in the doldrums!

Morgan Stanley downgrade today from Overweight to Equalweight. I cannot see any change in their Target Price though,the last of which I note was 670p, which would be very encouraging if still the case. Could anyone correct me if I'm out of date or verify if that is still the case . Thanks in advance!

Could'nt agree more Nuri. And very wise to pay down debt. Investors in Carillion, Mothercare ,Thomas Cook, Interserve etc. etc. probably wish those respective companies fixed their roofs while the sun was still shining! Aviva SP is destined to go through the roof after basics are sorted out.

At £5million per annum, I'd be more than happy to be the CEO. Even if there was an elephant in the cupboard ! LOL

I seem to have hit a raw nerve here which was not my intention. Maybe some have become emotionally attached to the company . I realise too that psychologically, it is difficult to crystallize losses in the hope of a rebound in SP. FWIW, I am employed actually in a supervisory role myself, but I don't wish to elaborate as obviously I could compromise my position. From my pov, I decided it was best to offload my holdings. I realised considerable losses but feel things were only going to get worse. I switched the proceeds to Aviva plc as there is probably a good chance of mitigating the losses I sustained. Perhaps I'm wrong to do so,but that is the decision I made. I'll say no more on the matter and just wish all the best of luck!

Nuri, If you knew what I know regarding the incompetence of management/supervisors within Royal Mail group, you would,I'm sure, divest yourself of any shares you may own of this company. There is a culture of bullying and intimidation of the people working at the coalface and staff morale could not be any worse. No business can thrive under such circumstances. Lower management cannot be retrained to gain the necessary man/person management skills, as the capacity to treat people with respect and dignity comes from the soul,and unfortunately, for the majority of these 'bosses' , you're talking about defective innate attitude issues that will never be remedied. I feel certain, having witnessed the toxic atmosphere from within for myself that RMG is absolutely not investible. The above is not from my opinion, but from my knowledge. I feel certain that the endemic poisonous status quo within rmg can only massively contribute to considerable further declines in the SP in future. Ignore my advice by all means, that is anybody's prerogative. After all, for all anybody here knows, I could be a bitter or disgruntled ex employee or something. The truth is though, by sharing this information, I may be doing someone a big favour I feel. Regardless of anyone's investment decisions on RMG, I wish you the best of luck!

Clearly there is some unfair scepticism prevailing in the market on this new unproven CEO. In the fulness of time, however, when targets are met/surpassed etc., I'm optimistic the Value of Aviva will make holders patience more than well-rewarded. In the meantime, the well-covered,progressive dividends are much appreciated.

Am a bit perplexed this is not yet advancing this morning. I can only imagine there is still considerable hesitation in the market. Once the shackles are off it's bound to motor imv.

Judging by the after hours purchases yesterday,I would not be surprised to see a sharp retrace in the SP today to well above 400p.

This is a temporary myopic setback caused by short-termist greed basically. The business plan is intrinsically sound and will, in due course, lead to a much stronger SP. Interestingly, despite all the doom and gloom, there are no open Short positions in Aviva, which I take as being a very positive signal.

Aviva slumps today on news they're retaining thriving and growing sections of the business. Mark's and Spencer, a struggling business in decline meanwhile ,rises smartly today. THE MIND BOGGLES!!!!!

Why? There's a 50% upside in these!

The pound's done no favours for l&g or the pru though today...

If the November update on Aviva's future plans go down well, then the share price will rise significantly, brexit or no brexit imv!

Hope the talks fail. Bear in mind that Aviva will be getting on for £6 per share if article 50 is revoked.
