The only meaningful question I would have to put to the current incumbents would be, When do you intend to resign? This of course would be one of the unanswered (vetted) questions 'due to time constraints' . I repeat, something more drastic is required for Aviva plc. It's easy for a plc to lose trust, not so easy to regain trust imo.

What's the point? They're only going to defend their abysmally inept performance with the usual inane platitudes! What is required here is something far more drastic in order to restore a modicum of trust in Aviva!

But the BOD? did not cut the dividend, it was TERMINATED! They meekly kow-towed to a government quango after boasting how resilient and robust the company is, and giving every indication to shareholders that the announced dividend would be honoured! No wonder the shares are being boycotted by many institutional investors. Aviva's reputation and image is now irreparably damaged, at least for the duration of this corporately naive CEO that we are lumbered with.

Before bidding to takeover, a predator would need to acquire a large percentage of the shares in the market which would likely cause the SP to rise to £5ish. Then an offer of c£6to£7 might tempt institutional investors/shareholders to consider any recommendation from the BOD.

$2.8bn debt=£2.28bn debt. Sounds a lot better already! As for Covid-19, that will soon be old hat. Even the BOE say that economic growth will be back to normal by mid 2021. Also, it's looking like Insurers exposure to covid-19 claims are insignificant. Would therefore expect an early resumption of dividends including a Special dividend in lieu of the 'cautious' retention of the 2019 Final divi.

Companies can have a lot of control over sentiment too by their actions (or inactions).

Given that the so-called blueprint for the virus's genetic code/DNA has already been established, you have to be cautiously optimistic that an efficacious vaccine will become available shortly,perhaps in combination with 1 or 2 other vaccines. I doubt any nation would keep any solution to themselves. We are in an interdependent Global Economy ,therefore it's in the whole world's interest to collaborate and share knowledge. What's required for Aviva plc however is an antidote for pathetic corporate direction imo!

Hardly surprising AllAtSea. Aviva is led by a weak and feeble CEO who capitulates at the merest whiff of pressure. By my reckoning, he is the Neville Chamberlain of the Corporate world!

And the galling thing is seeing the L&G SP rising by practically double Aviva's in percentage terms. It's not too late to do a U-turn on the dividend suspension and restore some value back into this Share. Alas, this company appears to be headed by a wimp who buckles under the slightest external pressure in my opinion!

And they are paying good dividends.

Because those companies have proper leadership. L&G and Aviva both increased in value today though. Oh! Yes! L&G rise was10x Aviva's.
