L&g are the same type of company as Aviva and they ARE dishing out divi's NOW! The problem here is not the type of company : it is the type of management. By that I mean they are totally incompetent here and fail to realize that by completely pulling the declared divi, huge damage has been inflicted to investor sentiment,both existing and potential investors.

Since Div...chaser stopped posting, the SP has stormed ahead. Hope he didn't dump his holding on the cheap.

My understanding is that the Bod have linked future bonuses to the restoration of the dividend so it would be in their own interest to so ASAP!

The strategy allatsea seems to be,pull the divi on the pretext of PRA warning thereby causing much further weakening of the SP. The real intention being to buy-back there own shares at an artificially low price,thus being able to cancel far more shares . A brilliant strategy overall even if the tactic of pulling the divi led to short-term pain for loyal shareholders!

That suggests they can buy back however many they see fit fedfade. If a while back they were 'more than happy to pay over £5 p/sh, they should start vacuuming them up now imo!

The motion was passed at yesterday's AGM authorising the Board to purchase their own shares. This is all set now for a considerable retrace towards a more realistic SP .

FI, not that long ago they were buying back their own shares in excess of £5 per share. On current EPS, a P/E of 10 would equate to an SP of £6 p/sh.
