Thanks for the comments/feedback guys. Was looking at Aviva on the Simply Wall Street 7 day free trial but considering your views i won't be signing up to it. Even so, Cevian Capital reckoned Av. had a potential SP of £8 per share and that was in old money prior to consolidation which presumably they've recalibrated their target SP to circa £10 per share!
Incidentally, what are fellow posters views on Stockopedia's research platform.

If you include the recent share buybacks/cancellations, there's approx. 30% fewer shares in circulation. I'm more surprised that we haven't seen much director re-investment of their Capital Returns. That would give a significant boost to the SP.

That's a disastrous blunder to make for an investment magazine. That aside, I reckon we'll soon see some sizeable director purchases in the coming days once the dust settles on the consolidation ( ie all shareholders have received their Capital Returns from the B shares).

I think you are missing the fact Jnkeir that you are holding circa the same amount of shares as before which will now be paying you circa 40% more in dividends. You now have a significantly larger stake in Aviva plc owing to the 24% cancellation of old shares via the consolidation ( not to mention the previous £1billion buyback/cancellation).

Now hold more new shares than old after re-investing capital return ,and with far more future dividends,what's not to like. Should get an sp boost soon when senior execs do likewise. There's a good chance the re-shaped company is ripe for a lucrative takeover bid but am happy to take the division for a few more years.

I bought shedloads at 30p and 22p (average of 27p). My only regret was lack of funds at 20p-ish but happy to be near break-even. Expect to be well in-the-money shortly as CPI is obscenely cheap. Should be at least 50p imv.

8% of Cpi was shorted in 2018. Today, as per shorttracker, there are 0% of open shorts. Clearly, sentiment has massively changed in a positive direction. My only regret is not having any spare funds to increase my holdings at these ridiculously cheap prices. By the time funds become available I fear the SP will have already sharply advanced.

Inflation should prove beneficial to companies that carry a heavy amount of debt as the value of such debt becomes eroded.

Capitalistpig- you stand to lose £28k then, but i reckon there's a jolly good chance the value of your holding will be worth in excess of £100,000 in due course. GOOD LUCK !

Well done to you but if I were you I'd hang on to the 90% plus you have remaining for the £8 per share with 45p dividend equivalent (post consolidation which will equate to circa £10.66p per share and 60p dividend p/sh).

Easy_Livin, I estimate the post-consolidation SP will be much lower than £6 each. Correct me if I'm wrong but at the time immediately prior to consolidation, the SP would be 114.7pence less after final dividend and return of capital. By my back of envelope reckoning, the Post consolidation SP ought to be approximately 425pence (assuming the new shares are a 3:4 ratio of consolidation).

As per 'Shorttracker' , there are currently no Short positions open for CPI. Looks like the consensus
View of all the Hedge funds is that this has been Oversold and reached the bottom. Once cash flow issues have passed, my intention is to hopefully double up on my holding in order to reap the rewards of the inevitable retrace. I say hopefully as the retrace may have already gotten away before I get the chance; so fingers crossed. AIMOV.

That was different robleo as there were unjustified fears that liabilities on Business Interruption policies could have been enormous. But the annoying thing now is that following the sanctions, we can no longer leave a small deposit at Sbermbank.

tep1, that was exactly my thoughts when it was 240p at the height of the Covid pandemic so averaged down at that and again at 270p on the way up. Today's price could also be a bargain if only Adolf Putin could be defeated. After last weeks results, this should have been staring at £5 a share imv.

They probably want to use the proceeds to fund what they perceive to be a more lucrative investment opportunity.
