Megan1...I sold 12000 shares a few weeks back @ 232p, My average was 250p so lost 2k+, Overall i'm OK with the loss, Advice I have non, It's what you believe is the right thing for you to do at this time.
GL whichever way you decide.
There's posters on here who proport to be ITK, Well, Some say after closing it'll open in the RED tomorrow, But opens in the BLUE, Some say after closing it'll open BLUE, But opens opens in the RED, Amazing how they then scuttle off for a few days then re appear with a different foresight.
Most on here have some sort of knowledge of trading, Me i'm not that knowledgable...but follow my own instincts, NEVER EVER take notice of those on here who say BUY or SELL...it'll only end in tears.

ARSENAL...thanks for the luck but I got out last week at 233, Lost £2k overall i'm ok with that, Pretty small compared to others, casa/igor either is one hell of a trader or one hell of a lucky fortune teller, If trading is his game then he should make millions on his predictions, I'm guessing the latter, Last week he was taking a sabaticle as the shares were on the up, Today...well we both know why he's here.
As for filtering him, No, He's entertaining, Maybe a little angry for some reason concerning RR, Gazk and Toff seemed to be from the same stable but with a different agenda using this board to get across their points of view.
I guess you're in for the looooong term with the amount you hold, Me,Once my loot has been deposited into my account I can stop looking at how the shares are going...lol
GL Fella.
Here you go casa...confirmed for ya.

Lets get a few things right casa, RR will not go Broke or Merg, Outside of Civil Aero all is peachy within RR, I had dealings with Trevor Ormand and Sir John Rose, One who was head of Civil and the other the CEO, Both understood how to get the best from the shopfloor worker, When I left there were 11000 in employ in Derby, Pre August this was upto 14000, This is where the problem is, Nepotism, Graduates, More Managers to protect other Managers, Agencies galore, In one year the shopfloor worker recieved 5 pay increases when I was there, Team based working, Accepting agency workers, Annual pay rise, New working practices and not forgetting a 2 week bonus in Febuary when RR made a profit, It was P issing out money in those days.
Today we have Covid-19, This is no fault of RR, The Airline industry is wounded not mortally but limping along badly, Should we blame those that run the leisure industry, Cinemas, Pubs, Restaraunts, Bingo halls, Bowling alleys for their missmanagement of the business...of course not, All down to an invisible body that can kill.
As for todays BOD, I'm hearing locally that effigies are being given away this Xmas time but you have to purchse the Pins, All monies to be given to charity.

Strike action will only play into the hands of RR Managment, I was a Senior Union Official in Derby, A lot of the work where I was also outsaurced to Singapore, The average wage there is circa £20,000 for a non skilled worker a few years back, Senior managers were told if this work was moved a ballot for strike action would follow...guess what, The ballot was shelved and work moved overseas.
This is nothing new, As orders flow in and the workforce gets older new facilities are sort...getting apprentices is this day and age to fullfill their 3/4 years training is nigh on impossible, Money not great until they've passed their qualifications.
Inchinann in Scotland in the same boat...A Blade facility, More work moving to Derby.
Pretty sure this coincides with Boris Johnsons House of commons statement, Went down to 187, Now at 198.
I got out on Friday Morning at 232, Now at 207
Megan1
Who'd have thought the SP would have gone from 100p to 252 within7 days, It appears to be stuck at around 230-235 for now.
As for the future, Get Covid-19 sorted, Get the planes back flying especially long haul, 9000 redundancies, RR SHOULD be a leaner fitter company, A £60billion order book, But circa 8.5 billion shares on the market once RI is complete...I hopefully see RR shares in a couple of years 125 to 150+, Well that's what my crystal ball says...lol
Good luck.
So what happened, Big increases for the last 5 days, I bailed @ 233p, Only £2k down so OK with my loss after last Fridays carnage, Went today from 252p down too 207p, Now @223p, I've learned quite a bit from this board ie what shorting is, Ramping, De-ramping, Uncross Trading(now)Algo's, Mcap and more, But for a week like this there MUST have been something going on...not illigal or unethical...not since RR joined the FTSE in 1987 has there been a week like this.

For every 3000 shares=10000shares, So trader is spot on...

I'm ex RR, Banks were giving eff all, Thought i'd put it into RR shares, I was up £2.5k end of July early August, Then BANG, Half year results hit the news, Shares going down quicker than a hookers knickers, Thanks for sympathies, Fortunately losing £2k @ now sounds a damn site better than my losses last week, Those who took a REAL HIT last week deserve our best.

I bought 11979 shares at 250 circa £30k, Last week when shares were circa 1.004 on paper I was down circa £18.5k, I cashed in @ around 233 which gave me £27, 898, It would have been £28.5k but Hargreaves Lansdown website kept asking me to re quote until it accepted my instruction.
I cashed out, Last week £18.5k down, Cashed out £2k down, This is my last venture in share buying, I'll leave it to the Pro's, Been a crazy week...just a footnote, To those who said it would be opening in the RED, You need to go back to Financial school, You know Didley Squat.
Good Luck All..........I'm Oooot!
Bully 1985
" Wish people would learn about these as I’m tired of explaining it"
Maybe someone should explain to Bully about the TERP...lol
One buyer at £12m wiped out the sales, Sales all profit taking.
John I wish there were a magic wand but fairy stories in the world of shares are few and far between, We had a little chat last week, I held on and you sold, I'm one of those stuburn so and So's who refuse to capitulate when others make life a little difficult, I've had nowt before so going back to having nowt isn't a problem for me.
I'm still in there, My losses are now £6.8k, When last week they were £18.5k, One good push tomorrow and I could have a decent weekend.
Now to answer your question with honesty, Stop playing in the share game, You've had a great deal of bad luck as have others, If you have £2k left...keep hold of it, If you have a roof over your head, Food in the kitchen and time for yourself...at least you have a small pot of cash where others may be skint.
I wish you well John...but only you can make this decision.
Good luck fella.
I'm on no posters side here, There's those that have been shouting the loudest when SP going down, Those same posters mooch off when SP is flying, If anyone has taken notice and sold their shares on the strength of this board...then they need to give their head a shake, If i'd have taken any notice i'd have got out last week as others did, I would have been £18.5k out of pocket, As it is i'm still out of pocket but to the tune of £8.5k.
This board gives information...which is greatly appreciated, But advice is only in the mind, Think very carefully before you make a decision.

It was me...and I'm 5 foot 2 inches tall, So a pretty small invester.
Arsenal popped on mid to late last week, Just a short reply.
