Why do you think all the film companies are delaying their film releases? VOD will not take its place and they know it. If they were going to go that way now would be the time as cinemas are shut. But they aren’t. It’s because the money is in the big release and big screen and they clearly have an ounce of respect for tradition and style!
Haha total applications did. 92% RI take up and over subscription on placing the remaining. Very strong take up and the SP action in the last few days has been stronger than I’d have thought. I did a lot of reading before taking up the RI. I bought more the day before the strike date to increase my RI allocation so wanted to be sure I’d be entitled to the full amount, and understood I was based on the trail. Turns out I’d have been better just waiting for the drop to 90p and buying a load extra then. But who knew...
Yes if what you’re talking about is a share placing. These are different. A rights issue is different as I understand. For example, company A has 100,000 shares across 100 share holders, so they have 1000 each. They then raise 200,000 new shares which those shareholders have a right to. Each would shareholder is entitled to 2000 shares each. That is the it. If everyone takes their entitlement there is no over subscribing. It cannot happen. All that can happen is not a full take up then the residual goes to open market and that can be over subscribed. The point of a RI is so that shareholders don’t get diluted. A placing is different as you can subscribe for as many as you like and don’t even have to be existing shareholders in some instances. These get oversubscribed.
Ooooo catch a nerve did I?
You think a lot of yourself to ask a question like that, don’t you
So hard to figure out just how oversold that reaction was, especially if this saves the company money and they have enough to tide them over. Any more delays to big films or delay on vaccine would be it though I think. This still has a chance at the moment
Not sure blockbusters is the same as a cinema as comparison goes. You can completely replicate and simplify watching a film on your own house with one you’ve streamed vs one you’ve hired from a shop. You can’t really replace the cinema experience; and a lot of people still like that. There is a whole industry here we are talking about and people are desperate to get out!! You think Hollywood want cinema to fail? Are we really moving to a world of zero experience other than your own home? I don’t think so. The question is whether cineworld can survive until the bug films come back out on the big screen. Demand for VOD isn’t there. Mulan showed that
I don’t think you should state that something won’t hit a price. You don’t know. The price will be adjusted to reflect the new share volume. I’ve just been through it with IAG. People need to be very careful who they listen to on these boards. IAG shares were £2. They did rights issue at 88p and increased total shares by 145% by doing so. The share price was adjusted to 136p on a day after the strike date. It is now c.90p. So there is a very good chance the rolls Royce share price will hit 30 odd p!!!
