I was giving an alternative to ridiculous house prices in London. I am quite happy with my current sea view.

RC - a couple of years ago we were sat, albeit with a lot fewer shares, over 7p on the possibility of a farm in - NOT a drill in the seabed close to reaching TD.

So a small rise may excite some, however, it is better to see blue than red on the portfolios of many.

jimtheknow - your main post MAY put a sock in the mouths of the folk declaring 65% there is no oil from the 35% cos.

The figures as you rightly point out is that there is a 90% chance of oil - with the CoS being as a result of the other matters in the equation.

Still not a dead cert yet of course. All to play for. ;@)

Gazza - this is such a place - however, when fiction is abused and purported to look like a fact is when the knives come out.

If everyone played nice it would be better, though, everyone enjoys a little banter now and again.

I haven't as yet - though a 12 day break to walk the dyke is a few too many days at the moment. I have still to walk my local - Hadrian's Wall yet.

I will probably get a couple of new knees before I take on a new trek like that.

I think even the Lyke Wake Walk will finish off what is left of the cartilage. Though perhaps the LWW is a good way to celebrate a victory for BPC with the pub at the end of it. Any animosity from the board will be easily settled over a pint.

There has been a lot of space taken up by folks today.

Nobody (well most) knows each other - why keep hostility on a board - it is bad enough with the muppetry that goes on around us - there should not be anything said on here that we would not say to someone's face.

Pros - who knocked your glass over? Best to keep your glass half full than empty - that way the pressure of worrying about ifs and buts is minimised.

I prefer to walk up a mountain without being concerned about an avalanche, a livid eagle, raging animal, falling off the precipice. Doing so allows me to enjoy the views, and the journey itself.

In my previous career, I would walk into an incident not overly concerned (though always with some caution) and got on with whatever danger faced me and/or my colleagues. I survived all that was thrown at me. Maybe a few too many scars, but I am here.

I would hope everyone here has walked into the fray with their eyes open. We certainly do not require any additional boll0x being thrown into the mix when there is factual news to be read rather that hypothetical tosh.

Fair points, well presented - though had they heard even the slightest whisper, they may wish to offload in a couple of weeks =, though I do accept they may be more than happy with a small teaser which is guaranteed 15% even if it is to the detriment of the hand that feeds them.

....there is no obligation by LO to rid themselves of any shares to my recollection - should they have had any whisper of what lies beneath, why would they dump at these levels? Just a thought.
