No if's, no buts - We MUST drill as the company are obligated to do so.

We have 6 months to get the drill bit (Which by all accounts is sitting in a warehouse and READY) into the seabed.

6 months is an awfully long time to wait of course and I am sure there will be many twists and turns. Company states it is funded for that first drill and I would expect that having sat on the information in the data room for the last decade they will know which is the sweet spot within the massive acreage that the licence covers.

Of course there is an element of failure and this is built into the current SP.

We have 6 months in which to ponder, but as the company seems not to be sitting on their hands I am happier now than I was when the Uruguay play quickly followed by the CERP merger came into being.

An awful lot can happen within 6 months - patience will be tested I am sure.

Let's all play happy in between times and if we have a difference of opinion can we make it short and sweet for the benefit of everyone else. You can of course do your own thing.

As per the company website :-

The Company has a clear and unambiguous obligation under its licences to drill an initial exploration well in The Bahamas during 2020. Discharge of this obligation will then allow the Company to enter the next exploration period, running for a further three years, and in the event of success seek a 30 year production lease that would allow for development of any discovered commercial reserves.

Whilst this message may have been there for a while - it remains the main focus for the company. WHY?

Because without drilling with P1 the company would fail in its obligations and game over. Or we are left with the combined company - Company of Uruguay and Nation of Trinidad Specialists.

So we MUST at all costs get P1 underway otherwise we may look a load of the new company ;@)

sharegnomie - This board features a few investors. The majority of shareholders do not post here and probably not on any other boards.

When you post a question here your answers will come from a fraction of the whole. You MUST carry out your own research rather than rely upon what could be a board full of fake posters - not all of whom may be aligned to your dreams.

If, as I would hope, you do not respond to the many emails from Barrister Hope/Dreams/Turnbull etc, informing you that you have inherited many millions of $ and you only need to deposit $250 to clear the bank draft - then why would you blindly listen and follow the aspirations and suggestions here.

We can all glean some information of course, and there are some good posters here with some very clear and relevant information. BUT when reading the information you should always do a bit of a fact check as a lot of stuff is mere speculation, a lot is also written to an agenda.

No-one knows what the price will be because we do not know the end game. We do not know if P1 will discover oil, we do not know the price of oil at time of drilling.

Stick a wet finger in the air, drop a blade of grass in the wind or read your tea leaves - they would all give you the type of answer you will get by asking such a question.

in my mind was okay and put a little meat on the bones, though I did feel that the chaps were holding back.

It is an exciting time and if we have a big oiler looking to buy us out as a one trick pony, the sudden onslaught of acquisition/merger makes the pairing a more attractive target and of course easier to negotiate a decent price for.

The presentations reaffirms the pledge that P1 is the main priority and sadly we have another 6 months minimum to wait the bit going under the seabed.

An awful lot can happen in 6 months - just look at what has happened in around 3 months.

Interesting times ahead - lots more meat to be put on the bone and not much time in which to do it for a positive outcome to be had.

If we cast our minds back Glencore were going to turn around the Sable plant - something stopped them - the greedy government - that said Glencore themselves were short-changing countries of their taxes . BMR even had hinted they would be able to lease part of the plant for their massive copper tailings - cough cough.

All in al very shambolic - and dreams of riches have long been shattered here.

It could be that P1 and the remaining licences will be sold on once proven - Nice little earner for SP and those others involved.

The building up of the company with other interests, Uruguay and CERP will ensure that there will be further opportunity for what will then be a cash rich exploration company which will be a hybrid of the two companies. Just a thought and not even an opinion. ;@)

Unsure why you believe the markets do not like this deal

There has been no major sell off, in fact the trades have gone back to the usual low levels they were before the announcements.

CEPR was back up over 9% yesterday and BPC has not moved very much at all over past few days.

Novice There is an expression - once bitten, twice shy.
AIM is not the place to expect miracles.

Let us wait and see what news brings us - hopefully a lot of detail.

On what has been fed by the directors of BPC and CERP of course it is a great deal.

They will say that of course as they not the intracacies of the deal and what they want us to believe the future will look like in 6 months or more.

Until we, the plebs, are given some firm information to evaluate and discuss in depth on here and elsewere we have to play around with the ideas submitted by individual posters. Of course none of us know enough to say nay or yay and speculation persists and animosity abounds due to the completely different trains of thought/gamesmanship etc.

We will be told hopefully soon and we can then thrash out the good bits from the bad ones. Until then I hope we can all play nice.

These are certainly uncertain times and we do need to know more about the deal in order to either deepen the foundations or bail in good time.

Too much speculation will deepen and divide that we as posters have on opinions.

Just checked the charts for CERP & BPC - I took April 24th. CERP still higher today than back then with BPC around double what it was back then.
We will see some volatility with the hopefully short term uncertainty.

Hopefully once news hits things will move to a steadier mode. News MUST be close as we all need to be made aware of what we will be voting on.

In essence, Leo thinks the BPC Perseverance well is a great opportunity. "They have great seismic which shows multiple massive structures and is 90 kilometres long - its massive. What I see in offset wells is that there are hydrocarbons in the system, there have been shows of gas and oil, there are reservoirs and there are traps all over the place." "When we did the pre-drills for Saffron there was 11 million, with Perseverance there is 700 million. So this gives Columbus shareholders an opportunity to be part of something much bigger.

The scale of the project is so tantalising that it justifies the risk profile." "I'm honourered and flattered by shareholders loyalty to me and the company, and that's mutual. I will never do a runner and look after my own interests. However we are aligned as I probably will end with 1% of the merged entity, which is lot of my personal capital." Will Perseverence require a farm-in given it is such a large project? "Possibly. I'm convinced that drilling that well is the turning point for our shareholders. Eventually I think that Big Oil is going to develop this given the size and scale."

Agree with the means of delivery and the issue of the validity of each post after confirming he would play the game. Thus rendering what used to be very reasonale posts in the past becoming a little suspect.

As for threats on a bulletin board - folk are able to air their views but there is a filter button too so if there is a whiff of grief from a poster best bet is to filter them.

Onwards and upwards - We certainly do need a good update as to WTF is going on with the proposed merger. Leo Koot at times looked uncomfortable with some questions by the LSE guy and I suspect the LSE guy had heard some rumours so was pushing Leo's buttons and there seemed to be a bit of tongue biting before he gave an answer - though that was merely a personal thought and I am not a 'qualified expert' in body language.

A new days dawns so catch up with whatever occurs later tomorrow.

Of the 41 shares in that portfolio 14 shares are less than half the value bought. Some of those are dead shares.

13 of those 41 are in profit with 10 of them being in profit of £500 or more including 3 with over £1000 profit.

Hence my previous harking about listen to the hints but do your own research before buying.

This is a public bulletin board and as such no personal details are shared by the LSE without authority. Having gone through the numerous messages on the board I have seen nothing that a lawful authority would act upon.

I certainly saw no threats of violence aimed directly towards you and certainly not to your family - direct or distant. I did note the suggestion of a forensic examination of your posting history though various permissions would need to be sought by a lawful authority was to take legal action should they wish to use evidence. A civil authority has of course the ability to examine forensically in certain circumstances for civil proceedings.

Again I see no threat having been issued to you or your familt though I note your comments regarding the east end and perhaps a comment relating to the naming of your children as perhaps being a little tongue in cheek retaliation as for the 'having a word'.

As I have mentioned on numerous occasions we are all adults and perhaps professionals and as such we should keep the banter a little sweeter.

Most folk here have learned the hard way when it comes to investing in AIM and though not all would admit it - have lost considerable sums of money due to the poor regulation. I have known people to have taken their lives which is even sadder than some of the foolishness I have seen over the past week and more.

The world would be a dull place without a differing opinion of things, however, the way we air those differences makes all the difference.

I have suggested to all concerned to bury the hatchet - I would hope that everyone gives their heads a shake, calm down and let us get back to the serious matter of BPC and drilling of Perseverance #1 and the tie in with CERP.

As we do not know enough of the deal it seems futile to declare one theory a winner or a loser until further info comes to light.
