Whilst we do not have to believe everything the board tells us we should be able to believe it.

Today I feel, having listened to so many podcasts, Simon Potter has promised (publically) so many times I am starting to believe him.

On more than one occasion he has stated we were "three weeks away from drilling" before Covid pulled the plug .

To me that suggests we have the available finances to drill otherwise how could we be a mere 3 weeks away?

Having the critical and necessary components ready and warehoused having been purchased means that as soon as that drill is ready then we commence the important drilling without having to rely on ordering parts etc so there should be no delay. I may be believing in unicorns today and maybe I have listened to too many podcasts, replayed certain sections and scribbled down notes to come to the conclusion we only have to wait another 6-8 months for drill and in between times I think we will have useful updates with regards to Uruguay and the CERP assets.

Whilst I am not feeling all fuzzy and warm - I am becoming less frosty.

Have a listen to the various podcasts/interviews from June that are available to voew from the BPC site. You might all get a different understanding which I would love to be discussed rather than personalities.

LTH - Pump - I did use the term lth as there have over the past decade and more been the folk who have been posting on here regularly - whilst we have not always agreed on things the commentary has been quite stable and occasionally we would get a new poster who would rock up and begin the pumping or dumping and creating a bit of an atmosphere then they would disappear.

Whilst this board is not an exclusive club only open to those lth it does at times seem a little rich when a relatively new poster starts to declare their way is the only way and I am sure the majority of the fairly recent posters mean well and they post well seemingly well researched and knowledgable posts - there are some newbies who do a drop bomb and scarper but in doing so stir up a little bit of a hornets nest.

Hey - it is a free country so anyone from Adam to Zebedee can post what they want - I know I am not the longest term holder here and I have not been posting as long as some - BUT I never came on badmouthing folk and calling those that disagree with them thick.

Hiya all - just fed up with folk telling me I am an idiot if I disagreed with them even if I didn't - the pressure from a few insisting that people were skewed if they do not vote as they insist.

The vote is a personal decision to be made by everyone - I do not need advising which way I should vote and I doubt the majority of long term holders do either - everyone is an individual and their beliefs are their own. Just because people have suggested they would vote against ends up with being ridiculed, called thick etc - like a pack of bullies.

To be honest I do not care which way people vote and I do not need to know either as I have said it a personal think.

I agree it is not a ballot Peter Ashey Rebecca or whoever you are - my point was towards those suggesting if folk did not vote the way they had declalred then they were a little short of grey matter - that is 1. insulting 2. undue pressure to follow a pack. 3. Plain against any type of etiquette.

lallee I am not a moderator on the board but I do like things to be civil - I am a bit too old for bullies and playground name calling.

I am here to make some money end of - I have time to do stuff when I retired from the job, though keeping busy with other things. I just want to do more, so after 10+ years of being here reading a whole lot of hot air from some of the not so lth it can grip my 5hit a little. Not here to make enemies - just want a board not so full of tosh from would be experts in the field.

There are though, some very good posts which appear to be well researched and are well written which is great

We know what the board have said - I have read the information and have digested it, and will make my informed personal choice on Monday.

Why oh why do we feel the need to embelish things and why feel the need to tell the world how we will vote - it is not the done thing and breaches all kinds of etiquette - similarly there is no need to give a hint at how many or how few shares one buys or sells usually at a hefty profit - whilst some of the statements may be true the same suggests the statements are a load of bull detritus. Basically is there any need for the macho cr4p? Does my napper in and is like being in the yard many decades ago when kids would boast about how hard their dad's were - it is nonsense.

We are at a crucial point in our investments - for those who are invested of course - and votes will be cast one way or another. The winner will be known in the not too distant future.

No need to pressure one way or another - it is down to individual choice and we will reap what we sow and have ourselves to pat on the back or try and kick in the nuts whichever way the cookie crumbles - all of the information the company wishes to make available is already out there whether we like it or otherwise.

Personally I am about as interested in which way anyone votes as much as how many times a day they like to have a thrap whilst wearing suspenders. Basically each to their own and that is the way it should be.

There are new people on the board and people who look in on the board without posting - leave them to make their own minds up. As I say had this been done at a polling station folk would be having their collar felt.

Off to sort my suspenders out - so won't be back til later if at all today. ;@)

I am sure we will still be wondering what the future holds for us - The Uruguayan prospect does not appear to have excited anyone too much although the prospect looks a decent opportunity moving forward.

My thoughts remain we drill in the Bahamas, if we hit lucky we will be sold on/bought out and then we will concentrate on CERP assets and Uruguay - This is of course just a meandering thought process of my own and I know very little of this game.

The last paragraph reads:- To remind, Bahamas Petroleum last month signed an offshore drilling rig contract with Stena Drilling. Another article quotes the company :-

“In this context, the company has for some time been seeking to secure a new project – or series of projects – to provide scope for a future growth trajectory once the project in The Bahamas moves beyond the exploration phase and the company itself moves into the next phase of its life”, BPC stated

I used the simplest logic of using 2.7 being the static price of BPC over 'recent' weeks - I wasn't going to be anal and trawl through all trades. I am aware there is some fluctuation during the day but the 2.7 closing bid price has been static for weeks.

Again - just an observation, and what I do with my money and you do with yours is a personal matter. I was not trying to create any animosity, purely reacting to your personal statement on the board. You questioned my numbers and gave the answer. The sales of course come before the buys in your initial comment. I do not need to know nor was I requesting to know the ins and outs.

Current value of that shareholding £24,864 which is a minus of £2,136 or thereabouts.

I had to do some computer work before going out so perhaps foolishly looked back on here as the tab was open.

Thebhoys - I looked at the offer price of BPC which has been statiic for a couple of weeks which would have gained circa £27k on the premise you sold a million BPC. The purchase price of CERP does not look like it has changed a lot so I worked it at current offer price of 1.9p per share which equates to approximately £2k without any trading fees.

It wasn't a snide remark - more a curious remark as with the current state of play (I think all will be passed) perhaps a wise move but if it does not go through perhaps the result may be devastating as would a duster for BPC on their own.

My own dream for the future would be BPC strike oil - a major comes along and puts in a great offer - then BPC moves along and creates the Uruguay and Trinidad & Tobago exploration and producing minnow and start it all over again with licences/drilling deadlines etc.

Thebhoys - making such a decision to declare you bought 1,421,052 shares or thereabouts in CERP drops you a little over £2k though should the merger not go ahead would it be such a wise move.

Declaring such personal information can lend itself to the status of zero to hero or the exact opposite.

Similarly when folk post their 'you would be better off investing in ???' that get added to the fantasy portfolio I know who to ignore or take notice of in the future.

Cars - I do not know you and I do not know of your investment. I have no reason to disbelieve you of course.

That said this is an anonymous bulletin board and whilst you cite personal detail and have your heart, soul in the detail and everything to prove what you say - the reality is you have perhaps never met any of the posters and we could all be charlatans. Try not to become to personal in your posts as it can result in major frustration for you.

For info, until shown otherwise, I take you comments that you have made about your investment and contacts at face value.

I am pleased to note that the portfolio is now in profit albeit bolstered by only 12 shares which are in profit.

The remaining 29 shares are at a loss including 12 which have lost in excess of £800 and an additional 5 losing more than £500.

Total Value: £43,765.35
Total Cost: £41,137.73
Total Profit: £2,627.62

The message that this portfolio gives is that not all posts will benefit - ALWAYS do your own research.

The biggest winner being MTR which is now worth a fantasy total of £7,642 from that initial £1,000, followed by GGP now standing at £4,745 and then TXP at £3,814.

I have never invested of any of the share tips given on this board other than our own BPC which sits at £1,628

Sweeping statements galore - deffo no drilling without a merger - before the merger and Uruguay announcement Stena had been sorted, finance, EA along with the timelines given. So how can anyone make such a statement without more detail?

We’ve believed and trusted them up until now so to vote no and disagree with the BOD is a contradiction in itself.
Haway fella - we have been down this road many times,and we have, as a group of shareholders, agreed and disagreed with matters the board have mooted several times in the past.

I am in the undecided camp for info but those suggesting they will vote no - are saying that as they wish some clarification on matters - is that a bad thing. I am seeing a lot of folk who would drive down a road with signs saying "road liable to flooding" and taking the route during a storm without first checking ahead only to be left engine deep and waiting for some daft ar5e whose job it is to come along with a rope.

This guys is not a utopian world in which we live - we are thankfully able to make our own decisions when needed without the requirement of demanding views be changed to suit the utopian aim.

The folk who are saying they are voting no are not demanding others who are voting yes to abandon their vote and change to a no vote. However, the Yes camp appear to be decrying dissenters to alter their vote. Let us just debate the views rather than making it personal.

It is just an observation and it certainly means no harm - just have a think about it. Play fair in the game, stay safe and who knows we may reach Shangri-La - wouldn't it be delightful ;@)

Star - I usually like the content of your posts - however, you are playing a dangerous game in speaking on behalf of all of the members here.

As you will have noted many are sitting on the sidelines (??) or so they say when they post for the first time and are often ridiculed. So can you really speak for them and those who have not made up their minds which way they will vote.

As I mentioned pursuing a goal of garnering votes at a polling station is an offence for which you can be arrested. THIS IS NOT a polling station, however the etiquette remains the same.

Feel free to suggest your own personal feelings and vent your frustrations. There are many folk on here who are undecided including those who you claim are no voters - they are no voters until the questions they wish to have answered are indeed answered. If/When those answers come their vote may change - they are undecided but have a fall back position.

To be honest the few posters on here do not represent the majority of shareholders so I do not understand why the need to be shouting out people who have a different view to your own - and that goes to everyone. We can debate matters in a civil manner without everything becoming personal - just saying.

Cars - Directors and Due Diligence - tell that to shareholders of many companies SXX, BMR, Sound - I could write a book about the companies that have allowed their directors to do their own thing having done their due diligence. Your comment is rather patronising - BUT no offence taken and we can leave it at that.

I have been with BPC for over a decade and I see the prospect of oil here - in fact massive amounts of oil. I am just not keen on some goal posts being moved at the last minute.

Simon Potter was nominated by Alan Burns to take over his role when he knew he was dying - therefore I have some trust in his capability of doing things right - but like my analogy earlier said - all the ingredients are there and thus I would hate to discover something that could kill me but had I known I may not have taken that fatal bite.

Novice - I am playing devil's advocate here and I do not know Jim - it may just be a pseudonym used on the board. Just to say Jim has NEVER said he does not believe in the company - his lth status shows that he does have belief in the company - what I gather is that he would like the company to issue their full rationale about the merger/takeover - bear in mind BPC have the option of riding roughshod if the CERP vote does not go in favour.

Whilst there has been a number of bits of news telling us everything is great in the kitchen they have omitted telling us some of the ingredients of the very special Simleo soup - some of which people may have an allergy to. There is nothing wrong with asking the waiter/chef those specifics JUST IN CASE.

To the folk who keep mentioning selling up - haway lads - this is not a playground - nobody is saying BPC is a bad investment - further clarity is all that is being asked - whether we are as thick as mince, clever as Einstein - some valid questions need to be answered.

During my time I dealt with a few impalings. They are not pretty in the main, BUT there were some where I admit to a wry smile.
