Well remember the actual bid has not yet been made and a spoiler one is not discounted. As fa as I am concerned this is very much an arbitrage situation. Ciao Is do not think the shares are ex div yet but the situation is very fluid.

For the record I have 30800 shares in a SIPP for which I paid the princely sum of 12p!

Just found the NMS on the good old Share Centre site and it is actually 10,000. Bear in mind that is only £500! But on them ther hand as I say there was a 100k which went through. OF COURSE I did not go in via the company web site. Used normal search engine. As far as the free float is concerned it appears that Hargreaves Hale have 19% from latest RNS for discretionary clients so to be fair to you I suppose you could say they are controlling them. On the other hand it was an upward movement which one would take to be bullish.

The link for the correct free float is markets.investorschronicle.co.uk They are not often wrong in these matters. I have been unable to find the NMS but today there has been a 100k purchase and several @ 50k which seemed to go through without a problem. Your own link is suspect as it includes nominee holdings which is where brokers lump together their clients' shares in a specific company. No share certs there. I am afraid it is you who appears to be a bit lacking in knowledge. I was in this field for nearly 50 years!

Most of the shares which look to be tied up are nominee holdings, just a tiny bit of VCT. The actual free float is as I stated.

MMS do not want a premium. All they need is volume to make a margin. There is a HUGE free float. Shares outstanding 139.06 million free float 123.65 million which is a massive 89%!!

Got some this am at 138 - only 121 in November and no comments since. Lots of nice divs etc to come and assimilation of the take over. Still cheap I think and hope.

Hi John. Not very active this week! GVC a up to 505 up about 50 in a week. Definitely a core holding. Sold half my Bet at Home this am and re-invested in Paddy Power. Paid 135 now 143. Looks good following their take over of Betfair.

This is still in play and there are dividends etc to be had. Obviously it is not risk free but I think the downside risk is reasonably small

Will take a little time for Bwin to be assimilated but the process is only just beginning. Ironically Bwins results just before the take over was happening had in fact improved. Last time divs were suspended on a previous takeover they took 1/2 the time anticipated to resume so I the same happens again we only have 6 months to wait. Surely this share is worth 800?

But the SP is well below the offered price?

Why would there be an RNS at this point. Nothing agreed yet. Still I saw it coming from an alert at Bloomberg and managed to buy a few more yesterday afternoon at 144. So where are the Walmart guys? Have not shown their hand yet.

Out of 139 million shares in issue the free float is actually large at 123 million so do not understand you at all.

This is as expected as the take over was due to complete about now. Onwards and upwards. This is one of the best value shares at the moment. Even Motley Fool think so
