Looks like we've found equilibrium at 10.50p - sounds about right to me.

Maybe because in the mind of Betts and co, Gold is likely to be far higher than the hedge the more time goes by (and you can take that to the bank ...) so they're as keen to squeeze it timewise as much as price?

I'm not going to argue with either of you because I simply don't know either way.

For me it's not cause to sell as such as I assume the floor hasn't moved even though the ceiling has been dropped by 30% - I can see why some noobs would take a dip at 10s though.

It is all a bit smelly as I've said - I would be furious if the hedge was below $2k when spot has just printed $2.147k.

If they've got someone willing to pay $2.2k+ for 60k oz throughout 2024 then that's probably a decent deal for the buyer IMO as I still think we'll be at $2.4k+ by Q2.

Hedging anything below the current price in this macro is virtual theft.

I'd very much take a different view if the hedge was at $2.2k.

I partially swing trade in/out at various times just like I do at HBR mate but I always keep a core holding because of the perceived value - I haven't sold any today and I haven't bought any today - not sure what else you want me to say, I was merely pushing back at the 1p suggestion lol

I've really no idea Jammin but many/most people will always grab an opp at placing price -5 or 10% - there's been some hefty red trades but the better part of £100k of buys too so who knows - anyway, back to the Gold and Oil price for me :)

@jammin - that the market thinks this is **** news for current holders but possibly an amazing opp for new ones.

Who knows - there's plenty of interest at 10s - I never know how to read what comes next here ...

Re value here - I do, of course, have to redo my math which was something like $25 per oz of Gold reserves so presumably that's going to end up at something like $35 per oz of Gold reserves.

There's a bigger potential issue though - 2/3 of those Gold reserves are/were at Dugbe which now apparently needs more money throwing at it so it begs the question of whether I can do the math at all and, perhaps, should be writing that Gold off as it appears to have been put in as much doubt as the Kouroussa Gold?

Maybe there was always a reason for that ludicrous $25 per oz mcap .......
