It also allows new treatments to be added and ineffective treatments to be dropped throughout the course of the trial. Previously, four drugs were evaluated by the trial. The results showed that remdesivir, hydroxychloroquine, lopinavir and interferon had little or no effect on hospitalized patients with covid-19.
Drop and add when they like,

So why spend all this time writing articles like this one...
Despite research efforts on novel COVID-19 therapeutics, no specific FDA-approved treatment has been identified to manage its symptoms in humans effectively. The evidence provided in this review highlights patients with high-risk factors, especially those with elevated IL-6 levels, may particularly benefit from clinically approved neutralizing antibodies against IL-6R. This can potentially attenuate the hyper-inflammatory response leading to respiratory failure and viral spread within the host.
Additionally, current clinical trials have shifted their primary focus to finding vaccines and therapeutics marketed and/or broad-spectrum, meaning effective against various types of viruses
Really, so no specific FDA-approved treatment has been identified...
YET ;)
Just hold tight, were gonna be rolling inTyk

Hi Krone, interesting statement from that article...
As clinicians and researchers attempt to figure out the sweet spot of who exactly benefits the most from convalescent plasma, all the experts agreed that former FDA commissioner Steve Hahn’s early mistakes in characterizing convalescent plasma as a “historic breakthrough” and mischaracterizing the relative versus absolute benefit of plasma have lingered in the public’s mind.
“That poisoned the well in some ways,” Casadevall said, referring to Hahn’s press conference announcing the plasma EUA. He said he encourages physicians to take a look at the “mosaic of data out there,” and the totality of the data, especially as there are other negative trials for some Covid-19 drugs like Gilead’s remdesivir too, which is still used widely.
Bodes well for our wee little Sareum ;)
