This board is becoming a waste of time. Some people just endlessly bickering - worse than school children. Meanwhile Treacle drivels on endlessly, completely unaware of what's going on around him as he has filtered out anyone who disagrees with anything he says, which is most people.

Castle - true dat. It's one of the main problems with social media and the internet- people just end up in echo chambers, with no tolerance of the opinions of others.

I guess the $64000 dollar question is how much bad news is already factored into the share price? We know the figures will be bad, but if the cash burn has slowed dramatically, there might be an uptick in the share price. Then again, if it hasn't, then the price may fall further. I suppose what I'm saying is, after much deliberation, that I expect the share price to either go up, or down. Or possibly stay about the same.

Fair point about the revenue from the RI. Problem is if that money just disappears into a Covid black hole. Guess we'll know more about that in 2 weeks time.

Hi WASU - I'm afraid you have lost me there. My calculations are based around the market cap of the company, which means multiplying or dividing by 2 billion pre RI, or 5 billion post RI. Hence £6.00 pre RI is £12 billion, or £2.40 now, and 64p now is 3.2 billion, or £1.60 in old money.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but £2.40 is £6 in old money, and these were only just above that level before anybody had even heard of Coronavirus. Pre RI, they fell to around £1.60, which is about 64p in new money - and that was before the latest rise in cases, and subsequent lockdowns right around Europe (and beyond).

Smartinvestment - You are right about the upside potential long-term, but I still think that in the short-term the price could fall further (60-70p?). Then it's a matter of how long the recovery will take.
D9Ber1 - About your pre RI price question - multiply the current share price by 2.5 and you'll have your answer - currently equivalent to about £2.34.

Tom 1927 - I hear you, but it's not a straightforward equation ; the collateral damage from the economic mayhem will not only make life worse for millions, but shorten lives as well. It's no great secret that poverty reduces life expectancy.

Castle2012 - I concur. Think I might be tempted to jump back in at 60-70p, but obviously that is dependent on results/covid situation/ vaccine news. At this point I think we are all wandering around in the dark. All extremely volatile, which brings risks (obviously) but also great opportunities for those who can time it right.

We will all have a better idea in a couple of weeks time when we see the latest quarterly figures. I seem to remember Willie Walsh saying that he expected to break even in Q3, but that strikes me as optimistic. The bleeding will have slowed, but by how much?

And the death of one person doesn't alter the statistics or change the facts about how much at risk any individual may or may not be? All I am interested in is people keeping a realistic perspective of just how much (or little) they are at risk, which seems to be beyond the capabilities of many.

Surely any vaccine news coming out of Trumptown in the next few weeks will be met with extreme cynicism and distrust. Or am I giving the American electorate (and others) too much credit?.

Treacle24 - sorry to hear of your health issues, hope ur well now. Just for the record, I don't consider myself safe ''because of my age'', or safe at all , and I certainly don't wish ill health on anyone. I actually lost a friend about my age to Covid, so believe me, I know. All I am saying is that people need to gain a reasonable perspective on the risk factor they face - which for most people is incredibly small. It strikes me that for many people, their anxiety about the illness bears little resemblance to the actual threat they face. I also find that it is the doom-mongers who want to shut down society who are the one's that are intolerant of people who have a different perspective.

Heardy - good points. You are right about the cure being worse than the disease. I currently have a rather painful ear infection, so was thinking of cutting off my head to get rid of it. As for the BLM protests, Barry Gardiner (Labour MP for Brent North) filmed himself blatantly ignoring social-distancing rules in the middle of a huge (unmasked) protest, but defended it on the grounds that he considered it such an important cause. So I can unilaterally decide where and when to obey/disregard laws or rules that I do or don't agree with? No wonder I have such a high opinion of our glorious elected representatives.
