Storm Coming1 Jan 2022 20:03
I agree that there is a storm coming - and if the lockdown advocates have their way, I can tell you exactly what that storm will look like.
Missed medical diagnoses for a range of things, most notably cancer.
Delays and cancellations for routine, but life damaging ailments such as hip replacements.
Lost and damaged education.
Lost life opportunities - especially for young people.
Increased domestic violence.
Increased alcoholism/drug abuse.
Increased suicide.
Marriage and relationship breakdown.
Economic damage. Severe economic damage. We have even started paying for it yet.
Social breakdown.
Depression and anxiety.
Loneliness and isolation.
Damaged quality of life for all of us.
I could keep going, but I want to concentrate on watching The World's Strongest Man, and I think (hope) I have made my point.
And all this damage for what? As fordm correctly pointed out, you can't avoid it, you can only kick the covid can down the street. And while individual deaths are obviously tragic ( and I know 2 people who have died from it) it has killed less than 0.1 % of the worlds population, at an average of what- 80 ? Not the bubonic plague, is it?
So even if there is an Omicron storm coming - and I don't believe there is- I suggest we all put on a pullover or some waterproofs, and get on with what's left of our lives.
