Will just have to sit it out with my investment here (and elsewhere), hoping that this doesn't escalate into something that renders investment concerns meaningless. That said, seeing Putin's speech this morning, I am not confident. His comment about anyone who interferes suffering consequences the like of which have never been experienced is to my ears, a direct threat to use nuclear weapons. The man is clearly bonkers, and as for the sanctions being deployed here, I bet Putin is wetting himself.
Anyway - I have nothing in my piggybank to invest at the new lower prices headed our way, so if someone could lend me say £50000 @ 2% I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

As for IAG being £2.20 a tear ago, I would love that to happen, but how much cash has the company burned through in the last year? Historic prices are largely irrelevant.

Well, unfortunately, my piggy bank is empty - otherwise I would be bargain hunting this morning. Mea Culpa.
I'll just be sitting it out, and hoping things don't deteriorate. Then again, a friend of my once wisely advised me - "hope is not a strategy".

So when Putin said he had no plans to invade Ukraine he was (as he sees it) being entirely honest - those regions are no longer part of Ukraine, so he can fill his boots. What a devious mutha****er.

So how long before the two new independent regions become part of Russia? And would it stop there? It seems obvious from Putins rant tonight that he still basically views Ukraine (and other ex USSR countries) as part of Russia.

So Putin enters those 2 regions to "defend" them from Ukraine? How does that play out? Still confused, but it doesn't look good to me.

Not sure how to interpret this statement about the 2 regions in Ukraine (apologies for lack of geopolitical knowledge). If that's the extent of it ,is that good? Will Ukraine accept this? How will NATO/the West view it? I am honestly in the dark.

Hope you are right Woody- but I won't be waiting for £2.00 -my nerves are shot, so I have lowered my target price on this, and my other shares, in order that I can walk away and hopefully get a decent nights sleep again.

So on the day that the PM effectively announces an end to all Covid restrictions in England, and with global travel restrictions being eased on an almost daily basis , I should be celebrating. Instead we seem to be plunging straight into another crisis due to the threat of a war in Europe, with the attendant impact on share prices. It's almost exactly 2 years since we entered the Covid nightmare, and now this. Am I the only one who feels like they are cursed? Will this ongoing nightmare never end?
Answers on a postcard please.

Wonder where we will be by this time next week - full year results will have been released, and the Ukraine situation will either have improved or deteriorated, so it's a big week coming up. I'm holding, so am nervous, but just going to sit it out.
