Whetstone had a very small holding in Magic Media Works Limited who sell the Roxi product, as at their 2019 confirmation statement. Whether they still have it is another question.
I don't mind people making money selling over-priced gunk as health food, dietary supplements or whatever. Touting herbal remedies for Covid is beyond wicked, and, I would guess, probably illegal.
I would be appalled if a reputable company like Whetstone Capital, set up by people famous for their resolve and nobility, was to be associated with a business promoting such a product, even if it is the result of 'years of research based on in-vitro testing, scholarly literature and continuing clinical trials'.
It seems that although WRN, a PLC in liquidation, wholly owns Law Financial which majority owns Sevco5088, its liquidators can quote confidentiality, Sevco5088 can issue unaudited and uninformative financial reports, and the shareholders of WRN can be left in the dark about where the proceeds of the Rangers IL settlement have gone. But it's all OK really.
Whyte says HMRC were in league with Duff and Phelps but actually Whyte got to choose them as administrator against HMRC's wishes. Now the Rangers liquidators are suing Duff and Phelps for the way they carried out the administration.
You think 962.5K less expenses is going to make a difference to WRN? Henderson and Jones are not a charity.
This started from a claim that they had a preferential right to ALL Rangers (IL) assets.
The actual amount is just under £1m, but there will no doubt be lots of expenses before anything reaches Begbies. I guess this is one less obstacle to completing the liquidation of WRN.
Does this mean they have to produce a new annual report (last one was to 8/18) or can they extend their accounting period?
Picto performs a valuable service in informing us of developments in this saga. If it amuses him to append HCR to his posts, that is a small price to pay.
Rapid seem to be more interested in advertising themselves to investors (paid-for analysis and interviews), than in marketing their products to customers.
I wonder how many non-insiders did buy Whetstone shares. Did they think they could benefit from price volality by smart timing, or did they actually believe the company was growing to grow into a great conglomerate. I guess it was the former, but maybe some people did believe in resolute nobility and tortoises.
Don't HSBC put dates on their correspondence? Would it not be when they decided not to list on NEX?
'Argus Research Co. has received a flat fee from the company discussed in this report as part of an “Equity Report” agreement between Argus and the company. No part of Argus Research’s compensation is directly or indirectly related to the content of this assessment or to other opinions expressed in this report. ... The price for this suite of services generally ranges from $10,000 to $15,000 depending on the level of services selected. '
To be fair, Alfista, Magic Media Works is an active business, involved with a product called roximusicsystem.com - from the small print on their website 'We are The Electric Jukebox Company (“Electric Jukebox”), which is a trading name for Magic Media Works Ltd'. 'Roxi' have celebrity endorsements from e.g. Sheryl Crow and Robbie Williams, who are described in some sources as shareholders.
There are numerous recent press reports about 'Roxi' planning an IPO to raise funds to enter the US market, though they do not mention MMW by name. Rob Lewis, who set up MMW, also has a company called Roxi Ltd.
It sounds quite Whetstone-ish. A huge potential consumer market (cf. health foods, online games), a lack of clarity, a need for funding. Perfect for pitching at small investors perhaps.
'...WHET holds 20000 shares ...' - costing £10160 and amounting to less than 2% of the total shares.
It's odd that they do very little actual marketing of their own product - I would have thought that was essential in the crowded health products market place. All they seem to do is distribution deals.
'An initial figure of £32,000 was put forward by James Morgan QC, acting for Sevco 5088, but Master Bartlett said this would be reduced.'
Always nice to see the lawyers getting paid. I guess it kicks the Worthington can down the road, so more fees for the liquidators.
There are rules for getting listed on AIM e.g. 'Where the applicant is an investing company, a condition of its admission is that it raises a minimum of £6 million in cash via an equity fundraising on, or immediately before, admission.'
As Earley said 'Furthermore, the fact that Britdaq is simply a regulated share matching platform has allowed us to develop essentially as a private company.' He appears to see not being listed as a positive.
From the interweb (2016):
'In honour of its global export success, Rapid Nutrition was recently named a finalist in the 27th Premier of Queensland’s Export awards in the biotechnology category. This is the fifth time the organic healthcare company has been recognised and awarded for the quality of its exports.
The Queensland Government acknowledged the company’s successes “in helping to position our state as a reliable and quality source of products and services globally.” Rapid Nutrition was also honoured by the Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards as Emerging Export Finalist in 2007 as well as Small Business Awards State Winner, Finalist for the Health & Biotechnology Award and Small Business Award National Finalist in 2013.
“As we continue to focus on global growth and exports, we are honoured to be recognised for the work we do in Australia and across the world,” said Rapid Nutrition Managing Director Simon St. Ledger. “We enjoy being a strong member of the global economy and contributing to the growing healthcare and wellness marketplace.” '
That's a bit cheeky, fonters, considering how many abusive, trashing posts you (and your allies) have made there this evening.
I don't want to comment on Earley's remarks - I think they speak for themselves.
But for the record, comparing 1953 and 2016 headline crime figures is fake statistics - there have been many changes in what is included, particularly at the less serious end of the spectrum e.g.common assault and criminal damage under £20 have become notifiable.
Like the reference to MS-DOS and Windows - really cutting-edge stuff. Why would anyone put up such an amateurish website?
