lohmaikai , from memory they were in consultation with greater Manchester as a region to help and advise with financing so i was hoping this would set a standard to work to with other general regions but as yet no other information has been forthcoming but thanks for your insightful imput more insider knowledge as to how the NHS works is always going to be a good addition .

Full NICE guidance is for safety of use and as they believe a more comprehensive set of results is required before giving that , that is what they are asking for . Central nhs issue funding to all trusts and regions but because they tend to spend more than is issued hence continued over spend , that is my take on how it works .

Just for clarity , these are the only things NICE are looking for more information on before granting full approval , they already have figures quoting high success rate and low failure rate they are just asking for the number of tests to be a lot higher than already given and also for the test to be used in a non specialised neo natal unit and is it as effective , well if the training is given then it will be , so more tests required and in different parts of the country is what NICE are asking for ,not for the test to be re invented.

Slightly mis leading Starrs from your last sentence , they have a budget they can use to purchase not just from grants or donations as you stated.

Not having a full NICE reccomendation means funding will not automatically be available , it does nt mean trusts wont be able to purchase said machines and tests it just means they will have to find the costs from their original budget .
Was i expecting sales news by now , of course as it seems sensible to me that as a hospital you would buy a product like this , should it be easy to sell , of course its the only product like it in the world. Am i right all the while , not a chance but i am not far off in the end.

LTH , this is why i am hoping consultants will be able to draw up a financial plan the accountants will accept and if this is done on a regional level it may carry a bit more weight , publicity would go a little way to helping as well . Ialso feel that because we did nt get full NICE approval could be the reason we have not had any real press coverage anywhere.

Roger , i know you think Budd is totally stupid but to enter the current deal we have without some other knowledge of possible sales in the near to medium term would for me put him on another level of stupidity . It makes no sense to only take a % and then draw down facility over 10 months if you have no chance of sales so as the draw down will not be required in its full entity .

Starrs, totally agree about funding for the tests , with full NICE approval it would be a no brainer so now it will be down to regional as you say . For me it is now can the doctors consultants put a financial case together to show the accountants who are running the budgets to release the money needed to purchase the machines and the tests, as we are all looking at it ,it is a no brainer to buy the equipment , save the hearing of said children and thousands in the long run , BUT for an accountant that is not how they would crunch the numbers as all the costs of hearing aids ,operations , consultations etc are already in their budget but then being asked to stump up another £150-200k , they will need to know what savings they are going to make to compensate , if that makes sense .

I have always seen the deal as the bod expect sales in the near term but not sure of the quantity but the medium term seems better , just my take though.

And with the high benchmark comes the reputation , i have always seen NICE approval as the key to open doors of other health care countries especially the US .

Starrs it also says in comment 11 the will comment in the near future on the evedence generation plan . So if they dont know exactly what they plan to do we dont have a chance.

working on that we need to know what is in and how long the evedence gereation plan is going to take before full reccomendation is granted , in saying that NICE want this test rolled out to other non specialist neo natal hospitals to gather evidence . So its a toss of the coin as to who takes it up and how long it will take , surely the company will have been in consultation with NICE as to timelines 3 months 6 months a year , who knows but then why not just go for a normal placing for £5m ?.

Starrs. i am not quite sure but as its a 2 year facility does that mean gdr have to pay the money back within 2 years otherwise R can then ask for more shares if the sp is below the 32p to pay the £2m back or if full draw down happens then for the £5m . if that is the case then GDR have 2 years to get sales under way , if not then i am well off the mark but will find out at the weekend for definate as no2 son is back for the weekend , as this is bread and butter legal jargon for him.
