Starrs, totally agree about funding for the tests , with full NICE approval it would be a no brainer so now it will be down to regional as you say . For me it is now can the doctors consultants put a financial case together to show the accountants who are running the budgets to release the money needed to purchase the machines and the tests, as we are all looking at it ,it is a no brainer to buy the equipment , save the hearing of said children and thousands in the long run , BUT for an accountant that is not how they would crunch the numbers as all the costs of hearing aids ,operations , consultations etc are already in their budget but then being asked to stump up another £150-200k , they will need to know what savings they are going to make to compensate , if that makes sense .
