stanflan, I'm with you on those timelines. The first milestone is to complete recruitment of 150 patients. The most recent info we have is in excess of 120 patients as at 16 March. With 30 hospitals signed up to the programme, they each only need to recruit one more patient to hit the target. With fewer covid cases in UK, I do wonder if this may slow down the process somewhat and therefore requiring Romania and Czech Republic to offset this. So with no evidence to support this, I reckon 150 could be reached by Fri week, i.e 16 Apr. Then add 28 days for the trial (primary & Secondary outcomes) takes you thru to May 14. Data from the 2 Safety Checks is already collated and reviewed, being 80 patients so data for remaining 70 patients will need to be included. End of May is my target but as you say, an earlier release of info would be great. Buckle Up- it's coming!

AAA and vela have different commitments, investment strategies, capital structures and apart from JN connection there is no real correlation. Vela will find its own path forwards.

The MC is £9m compare to NAV of say half that being current investments + cash on hand + no debt. So in some ways the market will argue that Vela is fairly valued. What are the triggers to get the SP moving? Current listed investments increase in value, pre ipo companies to list and increase in value and some/all of the £2m+ cash is investment in a blockbuster deal that is accretive in value and can easily be quantified. This will most likely take some time to filter through to increased SP. In the near term, I feel that it has to be the covid trials being completed and confirmed as successful followed by a swift commercial deal that lands vela with a multi million £££££ payout. That then provides JN with the leverage and fire power to take vela to the next level in terms of investment opportunities. The clock is ticking.

Maybe next Tuesday, Cornerstone IPO. Vela invested at 50p, IPO priced at 61p, already 22% up. Let's hope CSFS perfoms better than Deliveroo. Will JN do a topslice and lock in profits for a free ride a la KNB?.

Lemonsqueezy1 posted some weshop links earlier. As far as I can see, currently no disclosed date for weshop ipo.

I would prefer for Vela to disclose shares held rather than % for its investments on the website (available from relevant RNS's) . Once an investee company does a placing/raising new funds/has warrants exercised etc, the % becomes outdated and can be a little misleading.

From memory, Vela owns around 71k weshop shares and it was reported over 12 months ago they were looking to dispose of these at 550p. A useful guide but until ipo is confirmed and priced, just a working value.

Cheers slippytoad, it sure can be a minefield trying to understand the tax rules. You can see from the responses here that everyone has a view on this topic but rarely are they correct. For anyone with healthy capital gains, seeking professional advice from your accountant would be money well spent. Heavens forbid, next thing you know, posters will be offering share tips LOL!!!

Income tax and Capital gains are treated differently. You have a separate personal allowance for capital gains in addition to your personal allowance for income.
Income Tax - Personal allowance of £12,500
Capital Gains - Tax free allowance of £12,300

You need to read the re-org statement to understand the rationale for the sale. If you owned Vela pre re-org, then you are now a shareholder of Bixx Ltd, which owns the Argo investment. So you have not lost out and will ultimately benefit from the recent Argo SP rise. If you are a more recent Vela investor (post re-org) then you have bought the shares at a price to reflect the fact that the Argo investment was sold. That is, the price you paid was no doubt lower than if Vela had still retained the investment. Don't forget that there is a £855k Debtor sitting on the balance sheet being payment from Bixx to Vela in respect of the assets transferred.
