Dear Lord, I would agree with that. It is 8% of what SGS receives less some defined costs. So depending on the deal structure. I would imagine it is net of manufacturing costs and other associated costs ie distribution/marketing etc rather than proceeds. For example, if farmed out to a global pharma, it may be that SGS receives a royalty per dosage and which Vela is then entitled to its 8% from that amount.

Per RNS ->SGS will pay Vela 8 per cent. of proceeds received by SGS in excess of £19.2 million and after deduction of sums payable to the major pharmaceutical company and certain funders, and provision for taxation

I predict a big story in the weekend press releasing the great trial result news to the world.

SGS are not a public listed co. so they don't do RNS's (have not even submitted TR1 for their holding nor as % reduced). Will they advise Vela in advance to co-ordinate release of results with an RNS or will they announce the news b4 even Vela knows?

Boom, agree, I have confidence in JN also with my Vela holding and am of the view that a deal was lined up from the start but it does take time to get all legal issues/paperwork sorted. Hopefully it results in a shorter suspension so new co. can get up and trading sooner. May do a cheeky top up in the am @ sub 1p if no news drops.

I think some patience is required here, still within timeline that has been previously communicated. From 12 May SGS tweet, need to allow for a period of time for database lock and then data to be analysed. Consider how many data points to be assessed i.e. 156 patients * 28 days * 5 data points per day = 21,840 (estimate only). Think of it as an extra opportunity to top up.

Jimmy, I reckon you're right there, I'm expecting discussions already in progress, although may not be confirmed with initial results but good news to quickly follow.

Even at £40m, need to consider whether sufficient cash reserves and may require further funding partners as part of transaction plus the target co. will want as much paper as they can get thru optimal/lower SP.

Looking at FPP, I see it went from 7p to 3.85p but the deal was then done at 5.25p. RDGC has already adjusted downwards from 3p to 1p so a far bigger drop in % terms but really anyone's guess where the SP is going next. Let's just get the deal done soon and move on.

Agree, a Mon RNS would be ideal, may start to get a little twitchy if no news by end of week.

Took the opportunity to top up a little so not all bad.

Once sp hits 0.15p, all 4bn warrants will be in the money so there may be sp volatility ahead if some/all are exercised post trial results.

Agree on that target range, especially if £2m deployed into an exciting new investment prior to trial results. That should provide a good platform to leap forward from. My range is 0.3p to 0.5p on trial news in first instance. Then have commercialisation details to look forward to post initial results which may provide another leg up.

Interesting re the UKRI funding, had not seen amount before. Overall, the total amount raised was £10.3m per RNS so I guess that they needed additional funds prior to commencement, which is where Vela stepped in.

SGS confirmed final patient completed trial on 12 May.

SGS stated that once the final study visit has taken place, the timelines for database lock and the reporting of the initial study results will be communicated. However there has been no further update in this regard.

So how long does it take to perform the database lock - same day, a few days a week or more? No idea but I think it is fair to expect trial news could be announced anytime from next week onwards thru to end of June.
