Jimmy, interesting spot there. Accounts were due end of June. They issued a notice to say would be released end of July however they only released Unaudited accounts last week. Looks like they are now suspended til they publish the Audited accounts, now due by ends of Sept. Probably due to the new corporate structure but not a good start. Nothing to do with Trial as far as I can see.

RNS mentioned and/or so I am expecting both options to progress. Hopefully commercialisation in the near term, maybe this month?

SGS hold 1.1bn shares (not warrants). The lock in period ended on Friday so they can now sell, at their own discretion some or all of their shares. The shares issued due to the exercise of warrants is a separate matter. These shares were admitted on Friday so some/all may already have been sold into the market.

Reading through the announcements from Thursday, have noticed that there is no mention of Vela’s investment contribution anywhere, why?

The Excalibur News includes a comment from Professor Sir Chris Evans stating I am particularly grateful to His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, the Mubadala Sovereign Wealth Fund and our own government in supporting this project. The section about Excalibur Medicines Ltd goes on to mention Professor Evans and the Excalibur team sourced investment from Mubadala of Abu Dhabi, one of the world’s leading sovereign wealth funds, Excalibur itself and several high net worth individuals.

The Vela RNS only included the first reference to Sir Chris Evans comments but not the Excalibur Medicines Ltd details. Disappointing that there is no acknowledgment given the significant sums invested plus the SGS holding. This is definitely going in my email to them!

Interesting that this RNS mentioned commercial discussions with potential licensees whereas previous references were to commercialisation plans or deals. If the Licencee route is adopted, could lead to an upfront payment plus recurring annual licence fees.

Worth noting that CIZ has entered into a commercial agreement in respect of AZD1656 with SGS which could earn them royalty fees up to £5m from an investment of £200k. That is a 25x return on investment so gives an idea of what sort of returns may be possible, bearing in mind Vela invested directly into the Trial itself.

Nah, they never did TR1 on initial holding or when they dropped thru each % as placing shares/warrants issued & diluted their holdings. Would be nice though

Yes, all other CEOs commented (even from Oscillate and they don't even have a direct interest in the Trial) , was quite disappointing. I reckon I am going to write to Vela on the w/e and seek clarification on status.

THG, agree, it is somewhat confusing. I doubt the lock in can end on preliminary results but wtfdik? Can you contact Sir Chris and get the low down :-)

Warrants or Placing - no difference, PIs get screwed. Check out GDR RNS/SP today - ouch.

The Igraine RNS on Monday stated the clinical team at SGS were preparing to provide all stakeholders with the Preliminary results. The statement yesterday stated SGS announced the receipt of the Final data. Vela also stated that the minimum threshold of primary/secondary and safety endpoint conditions were met and the SGS share the lock-in period ends. So Arcadia Trial Phase II is completed, right?

What about the further clinical trials and analysis to determine the precise nature of the biological effects of AZD1656 that explain the observed clinical outcomes that were mentioned? I assume that they are outside the scope of Phase II, in which case there should be no impediment to commercialisation. From the get go, it was stated that should the trial be successful, we expect to agree a commercial deal with a partner almost immediately.

I think the opportunity to sell and re-buy for 20% gain is now gone but who of us LTHs were ever going to do that, especially after SP opened a little higher y'day. Hopefully these are the lows and the only way is up.

Need warrants and SGSC shares (some/all) cleared before next piece of positive news i.e next steps/commercial deal/timelines. Stabilise SP now and then should help with next leg up, although any strength in SP will only attract next batch of warrant holders at 0.125p and 015p. Could be some time b4 we clear out all the motivated sellers. Market may wake up once we know £££ to Vela.

I’m curious as to next steps.

Firstly, each RNS over the last few months they keep stating commercialisation discussions are to commence. Maybe a copy and paste each time but I assume they are well and truly underway, if not nearing conclusion by now. RNS then mentions discussions with potential licensees and/or fundraise for further clinical trials to investigate AZD1656 in a larger study. The licencee route suggests to me manufacture and distribution. Can that happen concurrently whilst they undertake further analysis of the biological effects and future clinical trials as mentioned and what is the timeframe for these actions? MHRA and UKRI are involved here, I can’t see them sitting on this drug and delaying for another 12 months – they will want it out on the market asap.

The data from ARCADIA supports continued investigation of AZD1656 for the treatment of patients with COVID-19, with or without diabetes, in future clinical trials.

If proven, that increase the potential market size exponentially. I wonder what the next steps are, with the current state of the pandemic, will they go for EUA to get it out to the market whilst continuing further clinical trials - is that an option?

Actually the warrants RNS was not too clear. There were 2 tranches of warrants exercised:-
