Thks, I see where those numbers are derived from now although don’t know how Yahoo has arrived at this total, could possibly be out of date. Now that the SGS lock in has expired and they have offloaded their shares, I do not know of any other share restrictions that currently apply. I would say all 16.25bn shares are in public hands. Probably doesn’t matter too much at the moment, 13bn or 16bn, lots of shares to churn to get SP moving again.
The attached footnote to the Float number states:- A company's float is a measure of the number of shares available for trading by the public. It's calculated by taking the number of issued and outstanding shares minus any restricted stock, which may not be publicly traded.
