Following the speech from the FED yesterday saying that they were continuing to raise interest rates and might even do it more quickly than they had previously suggested I had expected to see POG fall today - so far at least that doesn’t appear to be happening but I will look again when US opens this afternoon. Trump is not on his own thinking the FED are moving to fast - trying to get the rates up so they can drop them 5% with the anticipated downturn in 2020 - and I can see him (Trump) firing Powell and even restricting the power/scope of the FED if he thinks they are working against him or his plans, I certainly would not be surprised. I wonder if Trump has considered a massive buy of gold which would look good and might also help him weaken the $. Whatever happens unlike other miners it should not in reality affect us in ACA - the POG is just a distraction at the moment - our future will be determined by the conclusion of the deal with GoT.

Yes but now there are two guys in jail and ABX can’t just wait until it suits them, they will have to act quickly. I am sure that JT and his team are coordinating with MB and his team on a daily basis already - sorting out the deal with GoT and the future of ACA just became top of their list.

I agree Super, the charges against the company are old news but imprisoning two people is a game changer and will force Barrick back to the table - it’s not that I have lost faith in Barrick doing a good deal I just can’t help thinking that they believe resolution here can wait until they are ready - they must be pretty busy at the moment. The GoT have been left licking their wounds and trying to make ends meet so they have come up with something that cannot be put off - I feel for the guys at the sharpe end of this and hope and believe that it will bring about the resolution we have all been waiting for.

I disagree, I read this as the board of ACA will now finally start pushing Barrick to get on with it. ‘The Company is also continuing to engage with Barrick Gold Corporation (“Barrick”) to seek to understand the future conduct and a timetable for the completion of Barrick’s direct discussions with the GoT, in which the Company is not directly involved. In particular, the Company is seeking to engage with Barrick to understand how the recent significant escalations of Government actions against BGML, NMGML and PML and employees will be taken into account in their direct discussions. In light of recent developments in Tanzania, the Company is now considering its position including in particular with respect to the Government actions and the charges now being brought.’ This is good for us and will get things moving - nobody can allow two potentially innocent victims of a politically inspired play list to sit in a jail sell waiting for Barrick - they will be forced to act. I am feeling very positive and expect that things will finally start to move - let’s see.

If anything this could help us to reach a resolution quicker - you can’t just leave the two accused in jail while you try and get your ducks in a row and apparently the law does not allow for them to be released on bail - perhaps GoT have actually done us a favour and this will lead to action from Barrick? Perhaps I underestimated the GoT and they have pushed the matter to the top of JT’s/MB’s to do list.

Well it looks like the GoT instead of deciding to find areas of compromise have decided to try and attack us again or at least it suits some to report it as such. This is really pointless - Barrick have shown that despite the harshest of conditions they have not given in. We are doing OK - this does not hurt us it is just more bluster, it is the people of Tanzania that are suffering and for that I am sorry. is it conceivable that someone somewhere in ACA May not have always acted properly? - almost certainly but I would feel the same about any company anywhere in the world but that does not mean that the company is corrupt. It would take involvement from the whole of the company all its advisers including its bankers, accountants, auditors and parent for the original claims of the GoT to be true - it didn’t happen and the independent International Arbitration which is well advanced will prove that and could well at that point put GoT on the line for our (ACA) loss of profit during the dispute. The latest attack I understand surround a potential misappropriation by Government officials of money due to villagers for land around the mines well of course that is possible and should be pursued- it should not cause a further delay to reaching an agreement for the future. I am sure the shorters were hoping that this latest attack would affect our SP - so far they have not managed to weaken our resolve - hold onto your shares.

Anyone that believes in the1 share purchase being some sort of sign will be falling over themselves to buy here massive string of 1 share buys! I will stick to the fundamentals but whatever rocks your boat.

There certainly seem to be some opportunities out there for traders but if you are investing then ACA continues to present very good value. Many long term holders will soon be reaching break even - some lucky people that joined late are hugely in profit and the temptation to switch will be growing. The shorters are trying to manage their way out but still have a long way to go - before they can count their profit they have to complete the other part of the task and buy back - this will not be easy. Without news the next step is £1.70 with news.....well who knows but considerably higher so hold hard, the best is yet to come.

Now what we need is for the GoT to realise that threats will not work and it is time to make some concessions and get the agreement over the line. They will go forward with a better arrangement than previously existed and benefit from the increased production from the revamped and rejuvenated mines - everybody wins.

What I fail to understand even if I accept the skill with which Barrick are moving their pieces into position how the continued delay in a final agreement goes on without protest from the GoT - how are they paying their bills whilst receiving little income from the miners? Trump is unhappy with the value of the $ - he has been saying this since before his victory - if the FED keeps raising interest rates the $ will keep rising - when will he act? Once the $ is not seen as such a safe haven the rush to gold will really pick up making the rises of the last few days seem tiny. There is a lot of value still to be achieved in ACA. Don’t be tempted by the falling value of Crypto currency - it will never be cheap enough.

You act whilst I watch from the sidelines - hope it goes well - you should be on a safe bet over the medium term but that does not mean - particularly with BDEV - that you may not be in for a bumpy ride. He who dares wins!

Barrick up 73 cents 6.35% and gold at $12.19 as I write - all other gold stock up today - I am confident we will rise tomorrow.

CEY doing very well today - I was in and out around the 1.30 level from memory and had intended to go back when funds allowed- can’t win them all I guess - happy to sit tight we will start to rise again soon. Very tempted by BDEV - for growth and dividend but will wait until after Brexit.

We must all remember that certain interested parties will seize on anything to cause uncertainty in the hope of pushing the price down. Sit tight - it will bounce back as quickly as it has fallen. Our prospects remain strong. CEY still a good buy but so is ACA which I still think is the better opportunity. Unlikely to see a merger between the two.

DOW continues to fall after close - down 1000 NAS Down 5% - looks good for gold. Should be an interesting couple of days.
