To good a day to argue but the buyback would have been a very good move and put the company into a stronger position - little point in discussing it now.

Closing auction price was £157.85. News (unattributed) came very late in day and I think caught everyone off guard. I am sure this will now be worthy of a mention by ABX tomorrow. Don’t be tempted to sell - if you get the opportunity.

Interesting that Shorter announced increase to 0.75% on 19th (takes a few days to show) - bad move. No trades currently showing after 4.23 when details went online - last showing as 1.63. Arrests appear to be solely surrounding 2008 - pre ACA IPO - Odey suggested as much. Seems clear if it was in any doubt the ABX will buy back our shares - now we just have to think about the price. Will/are shares suspended in the meantime? Happy Days. Tiger you are a lucky chap!

Sorry Stock - no evidence. No notifications of shareholder or shorter position changes. It is my contention that shorters can sell and buyback in the same day to push the price down. I don’t believe their are willing sellers look at the trades.

Financial MAIL points out that ACA, even following our fall on Friday, is the 3rd largest riser on FTSE ALL SHARE (in the 4 weeks to 19th Oct when the market entered correction territory). From £1.20 to £1.48. Interestingly RRS are 2nd and INTU 1st - both the subject of a takeover bid. Doesn’t really mean anything but good to get a mention. I am expecting us to have an interesting week and the signs are good. You can’t blame the shorters for having a push last week - they are desperate - don’t give up now a little more patience and resilience will see the biggest gains.

Never been to Aldi myself but I have some very well healed friends that swear by it! I think BDEV will bounce around for a while - in the meantime console yourself with the hefty dividend.

I am going with Wise and predict that we will close over £1.50 today. Hold hard.

ABX open up 17c following yesterday’s 44c increase and are trading at about $13.34 and rising - if you were in any doubt as to our prospects then take comfort.

Pat you can switch out if BDEV and CEY at a profit to maximise on ACA’s drop today double whammy. The quarterly report was really all good news, arrests in Tanzania will force the issue and the shorters have moved the market in your favour, don’t let this opportunity slip through your fingers.

Well done Tiger - what a great move - you have beat the shorters once again. I am sure we are closer to a resolution and you will be very pleased that you have rejoined the team.

Personally I hate stop losses they are just to easy to trigger and before you know it your shares have been sold and the price jumps back up. Don’t sleepwalk into selling. The price will rise again quickly.

If you are invested take the time to listen to the phone in from this morning then relax. For probably the first time I feel that the interim CEO is fully on his game. Very positive and not a matter of if but when the resolution is reached - and I think they are finally putting pressure on ABX to resolve this and just in case they are talking to GoT directly and pressing their legal claims. Very positive about the RRS merger and how that will help they are also resilient and extremely committed to the future. We can all accept that ABX are busy with the merger but the arrests have motivated ACA to start pushing hard for action. The GoT must realise that if this continues through Int. Arb. then they will be fined for our loss of profits - they will not let that happen. Obviously the shorters have had a push today but if you look at the fundamentals especially the cash and AISC then you will be comforted that your investment is safe and the prospects remain good. Don’t sell.

Don’t be afraid of the drop - I am willing to bet that none of the institutions are selling this is just another (somewhat delayed and opportunistic) push by the shorters to try and scare you into selling - ignore it and they will give up - they are desperate for your shares don’t let them get them cheaply.

Tiger - I can only agree that ACA are not a pure gold play as our future will be determined more by the outcome of a negotiation but we are ultimately underpinned by the gold in the ground and therefore to a point derisked from what with everything going on in the world is a very tricky market that could crash at any point. I have previously commented that I like CEY but operating in Eqypt has its own problems - when will they get the result from their own legal battles there and does their SP justify being twice that of ACA whilst we have the same production from basically 1 mine? I see the recent events in Tanzania as the end game and although I feel for the guys in jail nothing else is new or in my view an escalation just a reframing. I respect your decision and wish you well.

When ACA was at its lowest it was easy to grit your teeth and wait for the inevitable upturn. After significant rises when you have the opportunity for a profit or a small loss then the temptation to sell does become stronger. Whatever decision you make must be the one that is right for you. As I have averaged down my own break even is close at hand but If I did sell I do not think any other investment would match the opportunity that still exists here - certainly not in the gold sector so I will be holding until the resolution of the situation with GoT and almost 100% certain sale to Chinese (JT) and expect my exit price to be 2 or 3 times what it is today.
