Mitch, to clarify Supers point, gold mines can produce gold bars known as Dore, these are about 80% pure gold which are dispatched to a refinery where it is refined and hallmarked for purity. Miners dig the gold from the ground in chunks of rock and other metals which is called concentrate - export of concentrate is currently banned from Tanzania and we have concentrate to the value of about $250 million at the docks and in storage - the concentrate normally holds between 1oz and 5oz’s ish of gold per tonne - it obviously costs more to take the concentrate to dore form but it means refining costs will be lower. ACA have effectively ceased the production of concentrate and are producing dore but this means we are way below full production although still remaining cash positive and profitable - some of our mines are not equipped to produce dore and we are using the downtime to improve and update these currently non producing mines. Might have to add a few more today.
