Dogface49 - Bless you and thank you for your confession - Pray for Forgiveness of Sins, Renewal, and Repentance. You are forgiven “the power and glory, forever and ever, amen” !! :)
Feeks - I’m sure the youngsters will be reading this and laughing – I would have been 30 years ago thinking these old twits, doing the W sign with my hand…but it soon comes around. I was in corporate lending in a university city, science parks etc. for 35+ years with one of the majors. Used to do all the governance, assessing all the tiny details etc. before lending in the early days – but after 20 years+, I knew if I was going to lend to them before they even sat down – just by the way they walked into the office, their swagger, arrogance… it became second nature to assess their character in seconds – if I tried to override that first impression, it normally would go horrible wrong – I suppose they call it gut feeling – one of the reasons I am invested here, but still get the occasional one wrong! Anyway, a coffee, a bun and then some gardening! GLA
I know what you mean! – I’ve also been trading AIM for 20 years+ and ftse 40 years, pre BigBang when you needed your own designated broker in London – the fastest a deal could be done was the next day as the order had to be sent by post!!
I find the trick is to have a good spread – a cluster of safe shares, but also a cluster of AIM wild shares.
I think of the cluster of AIM as a multicylinder engine, if one piston blows, there are several others to take over. If one does particularly well, skim some profit over to the safe shares.
Also, try not to get too serious about AIM, a bit like going to the horses, study the form and take your chances. There is always something unexpected that trots along, which throws a spanner into the works, so no point getting involved in the tiny details - but keep an overview as you will never get the full picture until it’s too late! Agreed, there are some good profits to be made.
AIM should be interesting and fun – if you are worried about it and it keeps you awake at night, you have too much invested and will lead to the wrong decisions being made – I’ve done very well via shares and just trade for fun these days, but the trade must be large enough to make it exciting!
Having said that, I do have regrets…money isn’t everything – you need to enjoy life/family before your health goes – as they say, there’s no point being the richest person in the graveyard!!
It’s a case of getting the balance right, not only between safe and risky shares, but also life itself!! So go and make a coffee, don’t stare into the screen all day!! :)
These companies don’t exactly look after existing shareholders when it comes to information! – I guess they are boffin types, very honest, completely focused on the product, almost forgetting they have a duty to the shareholders as directors – I still think they will come good in the end and patience is required + a huge dose of ‘blind faith’ !!!
No RNS today - Maybe people in the know were 'flogging off' these shares with the intention of investing in the MicroSalt public offer coming to light today - who knows, or maybe an RNS later on in the week with some other explanation??
have you got more details? – i can see something on the times website today about microsalt ‘aiming for a healthy debut’, but i cant be ****d to sign up for the free trail period to read! – or is there an rns not yet showing on here?
Why? Q4 is only 4 days away!
Yes, I was involved in the finances of that company for a few years in the 1990’s – tiny local company on a new, half occupied science park..now look at it!! Should have invested, but hindsight is a wonderful thing!!
Not sure if a raise is coming – whilst we don’t usually get any warning, those who have been on here years, will have noticed loads of 100K, 50k relentless sells in the many weeks prior to a raise – almost as if the underwriter has the ability to short sell, so when the raise comes they have already sold the holding in advance and probably can suggest a price to guarantee a profit for their service?
I maybe wrong, just a feeling, but in the weeks after a raise, not much large selling goes on – obviously against stock ex rules, but who knows what the old boy’s network/masonic lodge secret handshake brigade get up to! – I haven’t noticed any relentless round figure sells over the last few weeks, if anything buys, so maybe, OK? – As I say, just a guess and gut feeling…or it is just me being cynical!!!
As I said before, the lack of brotherly love on here over the last week, indicates that some still have too much invested and are risking too much. Been there myself decades ago – trust me, life is too short and getting the balance right e.g., families etc. is more important.
Via shares I am now a MM, made a M+ on this share alone over the last 2-3 years, but if you haven’t got your health, what’s the point! – I now trade for fun, a bit like going to the races.
Also, a lot need to step back a little and take an overall view, rather than on the day to day running which you will always be behind people in the know. Otherwise, you will disappear up your own backside and invest too late.
I still think this will come good, but patience is required. With the Chinese involved around Belluscura, there is no doubt they would have done their homework, with a full overview/assessment of TEK and all the associated companies as well. Maybe they will be sniffing around the other companies too, who knows?
Anyway, thought I would give you my view, but I have little doubt, half the youngsters on here will be giving me the hand shaking ‘W’ gesture at the moment – if you are, put a dairy note in for 20 years’ time - with a message ‘I told you so’!!
Here endeth the lesson, according to BB! - perhaps I should have made it Sunday morning, but will be busy taking a large dead tree down!
(BB - At an age where helping others by passing on experiences is more important, rather than in competition with them!) GLA
Re RNS – fantastic!!!? ‘ An end-to-end upgraded visual interface, with smoother graphics and intuitive controls ‘ – I haven’t got a clue what they are talking about, perhaps one of you younger ones can explain!!
Sounds good news, but that’s from someone who used to record songs on their cassette recorder, pressing down the buttons in the 60/70’s on Sunday evening from the radio top 30 run down!!
Yes, yes, but can we have some actuals!!
Sizeable is all relative to a new order – one box would be a sizeable order for my local village shop. Numbers required – an RNS dated 4 July 2022, over a year ago referred to ‘This large initial order’ re another order – but, what’s the ‘scores on the doors’ there or did that one fizzle out? – I know this is a long term build up, but it would be good to know we haven’t financed a jolly to the Far East, for a couple of Transits of crisps!!
I’m still confident and sure it’s more than a Transit full (or would it be a Tuk Tuk out there?), but numbers please as I am getting bored of finger crossing!!
CM22 - Yes, you may be right, forgot it was holiday season…It was a slight concern as it reminded of my partner who constantly goes on and on, about all and sundry. Eventually, the drivel goes in one ear and out the other – but when it stops, I sought of miss it – Also, when it stops, its sometimes for a good reason, other times bad and then its tin hat time!! 😊
Q2 2023 update – Certainly impressive, but I think the unanswered question remains, what are the actuals! Are the placement monies being used to fund further expenses/costs (bad) or the more then expected sales, increase in working capital e.g., o/s debtors etc. (good!)
Companies can be particularly vulnerable when expanding, as they simply run out of money (most people think it’s when they are losing business it fails. From my 20+ years of lending to the hi-tech sector, more failures occur when expanding too quickly) …In this case, there is comfort to know that not only are they able to raise funds through the placements, but also haven’t tapped into borrowing funds.
I guess until we see some figures in black and white, we just must have blind faith! – I still think they are good guys in charge, even though a little wet behind the ears when it comes to looking after their shareholders (which should be one of their main duties) – I guess we are all hoping that when the actuals arrive, the share price may just explode…not collapse.
I have a reasonable amount invested here, but never invest more than you can afford to lose – having said that, it makes for an interesting ride – I can’t be bothered to make comments on my other shares as they are too safe, hardly ever move more than a few percent – safe, but boring!!
Fingers crossed, but if more information was available, it wouldn't be necessary ! ACTUALS please, if the directors read this!
It kind of reminds me of an old newspaper advert from the 70's, I think it was advertising The Times - had a picture of the Charge of the Light Brigade in progress, with a caption ' Ever wished you'd been better informed' :) - Lets hope not!!! - Anyway, on balance I'm invested - GLA
