Only Italy imposes the changes, so far. Hopefully this indicates more territories are moving away from the attempt to control numbers of infected. It is a virus like the cold or flu. You can not stop it. On that basis, the tests are meaningless and the data from the existing testing to data has been of benefit only to academics. It is time to stop treating travel as some great laboratory experiment and get rid of the tests. The information does not inform the track and trace as was demonstrated when the app had to be altered to stop isolating everyone. I am expecting changes to happen fast over the next few weeks, especially re US routes. The ignoring of the EU commission diktat by all but one country so far indicates the lockdown lobby is in significant retreat.
Might be giro day Jtan. But I'm sure he has his coloured crayons out and is playing drawing lines on charts, tongue sticking out his gob licking the air as he does so, nose scrunched up and shoulders merged with the back of his head - wearing his favourite raincoat indoors of course and sitting on 'his' little green stool. Ahhh, he can be so sweet when he's distracted with his drawings.
To be honest I don't think Trump ever had the balls to press the big red button. His diplomatic missions to China and N Korea indicate that to me. In fact I think Trump didn't actually start any conflicts and reduced existing ones. It was him that started the Afghanistan withdrawal process. Narcissist tend to hide from conflict.
That was little over a week ago. With respect to older people, there comes a time when you have to give up the keys to the car and withdraw from driving for your own safety and others. Should the keys and launch codes to the nukes also be given up???????
"British Airways has partnered with a mixologist, Mr Lyan (Ryan Chetiyawardana) to create a new ****tail menu with seven ****tails"
what? a mix what? errr, bung a slug of vodka and orange in a glass and neck it. job done. you don't need a 'mixologist' for that. Does airways ever read back it's own suggestions next day after the liquid lunch brainstorming sessions? honestly!
Bellwether share reflecting footfall in airports is being traded ahead of the airline shares, any forward progress reduces selling at a loss of current holding before the whole cop26 kicks off. THe spat between EU and US over border access is very much in UK favour as long as we don't go in with the EU and implement same policies. Doesn't look like the UK is going to follow suite, some sort of rumour or announcement will have been out by now.
What to look for. It is possible, if the UK is to be the favoured partner, that the approval of the Astra vaccine will be 'expedited'. That is the stumbling block at the moment, and because the Astra vaccine is produced at cost it may well be one of the reasons the yanks are holding back. Money! Given the amount of data available on the Astra vaccine, there is only a reason why it is not being approved - so that the expensive vaccines continue being purchased. It could also be political in that some of the Republicans won't touch the American vaccines and are waiting for Astra.
Either way, if we keep on the good side of the yanks and let the EU dig it's own hole with them, then we could see sudden opening of some restricted routes on the basis of anticipated Astra vaccine approval. So watch the Astra news feeds - that will be your queue on whether the probability of routes may open with NO warning!
oh.... things not going well between US an EU at all, Biden retaliates against EU entrance restrictions. Note access for double vacced keeps some window open, Biden retaliation limited to Germany (Merkel) and Switzerland. And the moral of the story, Biden has his head stuffed much further up his arse than Trump ever did with total arrogant self-importance. Tell Biden what to do? Suggest? Hint? errr no! Even if it means ignoring all military and political advice around the planet (more time for exit from Kabul because fell far too quickly - Taliban stay out of city for 6 weeks). Now come on Boris, play your cards wisely and you eill play Biden. US routes, some limited routes, could suddenly open without warning. we are no longer connected to EU, we can move independently......!
Twitter should be banned, looking through the benal life postings of someone like 'coolebenji'. Is that all there is to some people's lives? Why would you want to display such a boring mundane existence to the world? Exposes that the load of crap you post trying to sound clever really does expose what level you come from.
So to all other observers, you can find the background to people like this bengi character to see whether they indeed do have any worth in their comments. Then you know what to do with the garbage they post. Ignore, bin it. I would definitely not be taken in by the rubbish or base any decision on it, well it doesn't make any literal sense let alone mathematical sense in the first place.
"you know if price doesn't go down here it is only going up..?"
wtf is that supposed to mean? Is that 3 down in the cryptic clues this morning or something? you post some really bizarre rubbish. I can see you want to sound like some sort of intellectual but please, you need to know, you are so far off the mark you are making a complete fool of yourself, Ben. It is Ben isn't it, Ben Wilson.
Hocus pocus, candlesticks and false lines on dodgy charts. How did the candlesticks do in predicting the rerate on news of the vaccine? And where is the candlestick pointing to for a full resumption of air travel? Exactly, nowhere, nothing. Scented or otherwise, candlesticks will tell you nothing.
Sunsurfer, consider the potential impact of COP26 and the hysterical crap surrounding it, on the share price in a few weeks time. Yesterday Channel 4 news claimed the hurricane was caused by a warming ocean due to climate change which had also made it head towards land much quicker. Total complete absolute Bow Larks on so many levels, but this issue is out of control and is about to go full 24/7 media saturation. I expect to be hunted down and a knock on the door to have me taken away for daring to question it. I do not think any airline stock is going to farewell this side of Christmas against the intense propaganda.
You won't get a sell off like that because the margin for the computers will be too big. If it does go down to a lower level like 140, it will be stepped down in 1-4% declines over a few months. Note the maths, the smaller the sp the slower the share price decline whilst the percentage decline remains in the same range. During that time, there will be plenty of pis with and other iis making the call the bottom has been reached and so there will be inputs of funds to prop up and sometimes increase the sp for a moment. It is going to be impossible to say where the bottom will be, how many bottoms there will be and how they will be spaced apart, except to say there will not be a sudden abolish of travel restrictions for some months to come. I see a tending towards the very 150s as a possibility, but the lower it tries to go, the more new money will come in especially as time passes and the potential turnaround becomes closer than farther away. COP26 is a major event that could cause very significant disruption intraday, or over a couple of days. There is a probability of cop26 causing a major blow to the sp with surprise announcements of extreme travel curbs on people [which are being pushed for] and politicians apparently ready to implement. Next general election is perhaps the last opportunity we have to put this climate change nonsense to bed.
Being bloc traded again, EU reintroducing curbs on US is most likely the issues. It signals that travel disruption is not heading towards light at the end of tunnel. Rather, still in the thick of it. On the cycle of events, turn around won't happen for 2x3 weeks, i.e. 6 weeks, add in some inertia and we are looking at a good two months before signs of recovery can be expected. Also the completely useless testing regime is now well and truly established. I have a worrying feeling that the testing regime might stay forever claiming to be about public health, but is in fact being used to reduce traveller numbers in name of the climate change hysteria.
Looks very much now like my exit pre cop26 is going to be a a loss on the current holding, a small reduction on the overall profit for the travel sector since Jan for me. New bathroom, carpets and larder fridge all paid for and I'll still be withdrawing a large pile of dosh for the states visit when the route opens up.
Only potential market up tick to look out for after cop is the Christmas shopping and then skiing market. I wonder after cop will the BBC continue with its ski resort snow forecasts! I wonder.
