" I was simply saying that automatically the sp of your existing shares drops when an RI is announced (just as it did with EZJ) and it is this drop that offsets the value of the rights gained."
But what had that to do with anything I was posting? This is the pickle you are in. You went off on some assumption about what was being posted, although there was nothing at all for you to make such assumption, and started mouthing of insults and nastiness as if I had made the mother of all mistakes - and with glee!
The discussion on sp dilution following the issuance of additional shares is a separate discussion. I never even got there, I was solely and exclusively demonstrating what the effect is if the ex rights holds up compared to a heavily discounted share - a basic freebie. It was also a set up to compare to IAG's possible offer, which I expect to be much tighter and examine how the numbers look for that one, which maybe a quite different story.
You went off all headstrong talking about the dilution effect despite that was not the subject. And you continue trying to find a squirm out of it. As I said, you should have acknowledged the point I was making and then sought to expand it to put the ex rights profit in context with the pre announcement price. BUt no, you know it all and had to jump in with your clogs feet first without thinking. And on it goes, splashing around in the puddle desperately trying to spin your narrative to make it look like I a in error and you are correct all the way through.
Admit it, you went straight off on a tangent without stopping to think about what I had actually posted.
