Well now we have it. Not an RNS, they have opted for a press release/interview. I speculated to day [and before] that might be an option.

This is the stock market casino bengi. There is no such thing as black and white. If there were, do you think there would be a market? You read the signs and bits of information floating around and make your guesses. You look at the numbers and decide if they are true, will work in the real world, spin or under estimating. You make your guesses. You look at the company with the context of the real world, the people involved. What could go right. What could go wrong. You guess again.

Thousands of pis search in vain for the guru, the commentator, someone who can give that little wink, buy that one, sell that one. There was a time in the Blair years if you knew the signals, the corrupt little ****.s would send out nods and winks, in between flipping properties. Those days are gone.

Nobody really knows what is going to happen next. We make best estimates, we read between the lines, we look at the 360 to see if there is something looming up behind us that will wipe us out. Did you see the pandemic coming and the consequences? Did you see the French withdrawing their ambassador from the US?

Seriously? You don't think people took one look at CS note and jumped to the same level of scrutiny? Interesting debate whether they should or should not respond. But you think the only reason people have drawn the conclusion they have is because of my posting? There has been vociferous counter argument and even a quote apparently back paddling CS original statement. Mote than enough for people to dtaw their own conclusion. In the absence of a denia, the consensus accepts the probability leans towards a RI. New news might change that in a breath. If no RI, why not say so in answer to the rumour, started from a credible source and repeated by those who have editorial filters. THAT is the reason why there are jitters, it is not because Big Blue has spooked the market. If I had that much influence then I would be saying something like, dump all your shares and buy Easy Jet. Then, when I have switcherooed to IAG, dump all your shares and buy IAG whilst I have phone up Biden with his instructions. Then wait until I've finished my bucket of KFC for your next instructions. Oh, yes, there is no god so pray to me!!!

ForeverNever, what date does it get withdrawn though? 21st, 25th, 30th?? If I book for a return date of say, Sat 23rd but then it is announced that it is withdrawn 27th 4am, I'm going to have to pay for me, the mrs and all 15 kids. Or should I pay for the higher flight fare to come back on the 30th?
This is what a lot of people will asking for, what is the date. If it is too late in the month, a lot of people will hold off booking because the end of month flights will be too high. It was a poor announcement in that sense and what could have been a far higher increase in travel is again subdued as a lot of people will not risk getting caught out - again! People have good reason to be weary of more travel sabotage.

And as far as you dismissal of my Johny boy, I have been in and out of IAG, currently in Easy J waiting for a switcheroo opportunity to IAG whilst keeping a beady eye on all the shifting sands from RI to changing travel rules. Keeping the 360 as ever. As for the rising prices at the end of the month, I've been watching them very carefully over the last week and they have doubled for the last few days return leg from a couple of days ago.

The radio headline on Absolute radio [Sky news I think] is stating the PCR test changes on the 4th October. I can't find any confirmation of that date, especially form the official government statement as posted earlier.

So Johny boy, tell us all. What date is the last day in October that the day 2 PCR test is required. We can then all book with confidence rather than hedging and trying to book the last two or three days in October, whose prices are just going up and up and up.

Johnbri, nice to hear from you. I've been trying to clarify something. Your spokesman claiming the hydrogen powered system was same because it didn't explode when the aircraft crash at Cranfield. Now, was it not the case that in order to conduct the experimental flight the CAA had rules that the hydrogen tanks must be fully purged [with inert gas] before a landing attempt? Was that not in the risk assessment and part of the approved flight plan? So you failed to follow the flight plan? You are in breach of CAA permissions?

The the tanks were purged and your spokesman lied in the media statement trying to make a substantial that was indeed false. Do your funding sources know that the claims over the safety of your development are therefore false and a pack of lies?

I would also add to the RI potential, keep your eye on the short positions. They have gone up over the last couple of days, any new entrant on the list and you can pretty much guarantee it is on and soon. I don't do spread betting and have no insight into those markets, but it would be interesting to see how the short odds have moved since CS broker note.

oh comon benji! Are you trying to argue the change to the travel rules came out of the blue with no prior hint or indication? It was headline news for days beforehand - the only detail being which countries were coming off the red list, but even then there was a high probability list on every news story!

RI still not being denied. The debate is whether IAG has any obligation to respond to Credit Suisse speculation an RI is likely. My reading of the stock exchange rules says it is - defined source is an analyst and subject matter likely to have an impact on share price. Other are sort of arguing there are no grounds, mainly by referring to the broker share price part of the statement which currently listed companies don't have to respond too. The company does have the right to not respond on the basis that making a response would impact on share price, i.e. saying there was to be a fund raise but there are no firm details yet. So the issue is in limbo and the broker note has been repeated in many places in the media, including broadcast media. IAG will be aware of the speculation. They are making a conscious choice to not respond, not even with a basic press release. It is up to investors to interpret it as they see fit.

An RI is coming at some point!

There is one spanner in the works that I do not like. The removal of the PCR test;
"From the end of October, eligible fully vaccinated passengers and those with an approved vaccine from a select group of non-red countries will be able to replace their day 2 test with a cheaper lateral flow test, reducing the cost of tests on arrival into England. The government wants to introduce this by the end of October, aiming to have it in place for when people return from half-term breaks."

Such a big announcement without a date? This has the hallmarks of the track record of sabotage, an open ended date. This is the lockdown lobby hanging on by their fingernails still determined to cause as much trouble as they can. If you don't know when the PCR test is withdrawn in favour of the cheaper lateral flow test, are you going to risk booking and risk still having to pay for the PCR? This does look like a trap. You may have saved twenty quid on the inbound fit to fly test (assuming airlines and local governments are not going to suddenly begin spot testing at the doors to the airport - wouldn't put it past certain countries) but the lack of a date from withdrawing the PCR indicates a classic travel sabotage trap. In fact, look at the booking prices for Spain, Greece and Portugal that do not need inbound covid tests and look at the prices for the return leg last few days of October. Of course everybody is trying to book to get themselves in to the 'end of October' window.

It tells us that there is still a lobby in Downing St hell bent on doing what they can to sabotage flying as much as they can for as long as they can. I expect even if Biden opens up the states, there will be an obstacle course put in the way. Of most and highest importance to consider as an IAG investor is the FDA recognition of the Astra jab. Astra sp is not showing any sign of being put on the approved list. The best ot hope for given the long approval process is that the FDA accepts the WHO assessment and Astra is given an emergency approval for the purposes of full vaccination verification of inbound travellers. We will know when that happens because Astra sp will jump 10%. It is most likely the emergency approval will be given in order to facilitate the opening up of the transatlantic routes. Fortunately Most of IAG does not have to fly through French airspace to get to the transatlantic routes, but the massive diplomatic spat currently underway could have other ramifications not immediately obvious. Keeping the 360 as ever. I just wish Italy would dump the inbound test requirement now. Come on Italy, traveller ready and waiting!
