IAG didn't need 'EMERGENCY' funds on the 18th September. But the CEO did say;
"We have revolving credit facilities, we are analysing other ways of financing the group so we have alternatives before we [consider] another rights issue,"

There has been no further update since then so we do not know if 'alternatives' have been found and therefore a rights issue has been avoided.

All airline booking systems put up seats in batches in various outlets, online or otherwise. If you wanted a very specific airline, you would have to buy early, or pay a premium through an agent that has access to the batches not yet on open sale. I can barely tell the difference between most airlines from industrialised countries (the likes of Russian excluded as I don't trust the servicing on lesser airlines). So I'm always balancing flight times against a good deal. I'll easily find a flight to LA on Friday, but will I be able to book seat 04 on a 10:30am BA departure Heathrow? Unlikely whatever the economic circumstances unless I fly the route so regularly the BA booking system has the seat on hold for me.
