Are you suggesting the science has been a worry to some then? Only I think even Scancell's most negative posters have always believed in the science and the brilliance of Lindy Durrant and on that basis, you probably need to add the name of every poster who has ever posted on this bb to your list.

They may well do but for now they seem to be sticking to the UK . COVID-19 hasn't gone away and the US have particular issues atm. The very worst thing would be to go to all the expense of setting up study centres in the US, bringing in Ichor machines, shipping the vaccine out there and dosing one or two patients only to have to halt the trial - it would potentially all be wasted.

Perhaps they'll do the 6 patient safety run-in in the UK and then add US sites in the expansion phase if all goes well.

I believe Scancell have taken the decision to concentrate on the UK trial centres for the time being. Seems a sensible strategy IMO given the issues with Covid in the US.

'As reported in April 2019, the Company has received the necessary regulatory and ethical approvals to initiate the UK arm of the SCIB1 clinical trial and as announced in February 2020, the IND application to the FDA for SCIB1 was also approved. Following regulatory approval, patient screening was initiated in the UK, with Professor Poulam Patel, Professor of Clinical Oncology at the University of Nottingham as the Chief Investigator for the global study; however the impact of COVID-19 means other sites will be initiated later in the second half of 2020. Subject to completion of the Capital Raise, site initiation is expected to be focussed in the UK initially with commencement of patient enrolment later in the second half of 2020, with interim clinical data expected in the first half of 2021.'

Yes, Scancell holders have been through a long period of relative quiet while product development continues behind the scenes. We both know so well that biotech investment is all about timing and the fundamentals now seem to be in place to allow the Company to move up a gear.

ESMO (virtual) starts on Monday. It's one of the big 3 oncology scientific conferences, alongside AACR and ASCO in the US.

It's been a while since Scancell presented at any of these but it might be worth checking for any abstracts when they're publiished first thing on Monday morning. Link below.

I'm struggling to follow the threads here today. Is your question re. clinical trial approval a genuine one (rather than making a point) and if so which product are you referring to ?

Please don't start dragging Burble's name into petty squabbles on this bb.

Burble is a highly qualified scientist whose area of expertise is antibody engineering and novel platforms with a focus on cancer. He has worked on early stage drug development for both big pharma and biotech as well as on cancer research in academia. He currently works in the field of childhood cancer.

His knowledge and experience is on a level that none of us could ever hope to achieve and we are so lucky to have his input here.

2) You now apparently even have an issue with my comment that Scancell has turned a corner. I believe they have in many ways and we can now look forward to a new phase in the Company's development. If you believe all that's changed is sentiment from investors, then that's more than a little concerning because sentiment can disappear just as quickly as it arrived.

I'm not getting drawn into this again. The points I made in the original post which you have now re-posted at least twice were absolutely correct in the context in which they were made. They had nothing to do with what a vaccine is or isn't.

Scancell seem to have turned a corner, there should be plenty to look forward to and to discuss on this bb that might actually be of interest to others. I'm not quite sure what's going on tonight, but hope you're getting something out of it, because I'm absolutely certain nobody else is.

I 'm sure that Scancell confirmed they were using a proprietary lipid nanoparticle delivery system for SCIB2 and a peptide nanoparticle system for Covidity, so 2 different systems. I believe the peptide nanoparticle system was being developed by the School of Pharmacy at Notttingham.

I'm not quite sure what's going on here. You have wasted your time trawling back through my posts for what? Just for clarity, that post was made in the context of Oxford receiving huge amounts of cash to develop a covid vaccine. My point was, and still is, that in an emergency situation, when faced with a pandemic that is killing people in their thousands and decisions have to be made quickly, they're going to turn to specialists in the field. Events have proven that to be exactly the case.

By the way, what do you mean by 'the usual response'?
