I assume you must be referring to the original SCIB1 trial - do you have a link for the preclinical research on mice for SCIB1?

No, not as far as I'm aware.

As I understand it, Modi1 manufacture is a two stage process. Polypeptide will carry out the synthesis and GMP manufacture of the peptide conjugates and then Glasgow based AMRI will formulate, manufacture and package the final product.

The last update we had was at the AGM in September when we were told that GMP manufacture at Polypeptide was ongoing and AMRI were working on developing a soluble formulation. At that stage Scancell were working on preclinical toxicology and stability testing. So still a way to go but importantly they had secured a manufacturing slot with AMRI. Presumably that had been booked to ensure manufacture was complete in time for the planned start of the trial and all concerned will be working to the deadline of that manufacturing slot.

Would be good to get an update.

Likely the invitation came via Polypeptide who are sponsoring the conference. Modi1 is completely novel and the manufacture has been challenging. What better way to showcase your manufacturing capabilities than LD explaining the cutting-edge, complex nature of Moditope?

Patients must consent and be enrolled onto the trial BEFORE full screening can be carried out. My understanding is that any patients who may have been enrolled have failed to meet the entry criteria and would therefore have just gone on to be treated with Keytruda alone as the SOC or as you say, join another trial.

All expectations here have been set by Scancell themselves who told shareholders that both the Modi1 and SCIB1 trials would commence in 2016!! There have been 4 rounds of equity funding and an open offer since 2016 and it's entirely right and proper that when a company seeks investment, within reason they should meet the timescales they have given. Some delays and unforeseen events are always to be expected in bios BUT we are now at the end of 2019 and every annual report and every set of interims over the last 4 years has seen timescales slide and not one target has been met.

Whatever the reasons, it's doesn't help to mock frustrated shareholders or to somehow suggest that PI's are being unreasonably impatient.

TA is not my strong point so I can't comment but worth remembering perhaps that there have been many times when Scancell have given very little to discuss and this BB has been like a wilderness and Chelsea has almost single-handedly kept it going.

Agree 100% with your final paragraph - we all want the same outcome here and if anyone from Scancell is looking in, sooner rather than later would be better :)

I'm disappointed but not surprised to see your 21.44. I have sensed that my posts have been irritating you of late and I'm sorry for that. I would like to make some points and then hopfully we can draw a line.

1) My post was nothing to do with how Scancell communicated at the AGM and I'm not sure why you even mentioned this in your response, but failed to mention the real point I was trying to make. You told Van Van that Scancell had confirmed they would be updating us for each patient screened and enrolled in the SCIB1 study and that simply isn't true. The knock-on effect of that statement is that folks may be sitting there believing that nothing is happening with the SCIB1 trial because there have been no updates and I therefore felt it was important to clarify (again!) the issue. I tried to do this in a non-accusatory and polite way.

2) This is the second time you have claimed that I've said KF would not be involved with the SCIB1 trial. I let it go the first time but as you have raised it again, I think it's worth clearing this one up. To the best of my knowledge, I have never said that he wouldn't be involved and as explained in my posts of 24th September and 7th November you'll see that all I've said is that he would no longer be running the SCIB1 trial. I still believe that this is the case.

3) I don't want to drag any other posters into this but I have a great deal of respect for Crumbs and I would never intentionally patronise of criticise any of his posts. Inevitably there will be times where we have differing opinions and when that happens I will continue to debate with him and hope he will do the same. That is the whole point of these bbs.

4) I'm not sure who 'you guys' are but please don't lump me in with any group. I post as I see it and that applies to both boards. In fact, I think I disagree with others more frequently on advfn than here. I have never, ever accused you of posting to hype the share price. I know that you passionately believe in Scancell and your posts are driven by your desire to see them succeed.

You may see my posts as unnecessary criticism but in my experience, in the long run, incorrect/unrealistic expectations are damaging and all I am doing is trying to prevent disappointment down the line.

Finally, I have genuinely taken your advice and looked at my responses. I accept that they may be seen as patronising and again, I'm very sorry for that. In my defence, it's very difficult, particularly with bios to know the knowledge level of readers of the bb and to pitch your comments at the right level. I'll keep an eye on that one in future.

To the rest of the bb, apologies for the length of this post and hope we can now move on.

I know you may think I'm being pedantic, but think it's important to clarify again - Scancell confirmed at the AGM that they would issue an RNS when the first patient had been dosed. Once they have issued that RNS then we shouldn't expect any further updates until the last of the 6 safety run-in patients have been dosed.

So in short, we won't be told when each and every patient is enrolled and screened, just when the first and last patient has been dosed. Anything on top of that would be a bonus. This is entirely consistent with standard practice for AIM bios and indeed Scancell's previous SCIB1 trial.
